The indefinite protest called by residents of Saviour Park Society, Ghaziabad, entered on its 16th day today, Saturday. However, protesters say that neither the administration nor the Ghaziabad Development Authority expressed any concern about it. The protest might continue for an indefinite period, say the residents.
A resident of the Saviour Park Society, Arun Verma informed that no one from the authority came forward to resolve their issue despite the ongoing protest for more than two weeks. "The builder is not yet ready to talk with us. Seeing our protest, people who have bought convenience shops are now worried about how they would recover the money from the builder," says he.
As gathered, AOA has also formed a Mahila Morcha, whose work is to make everyone aware of the protest. Mahila Morcha stood firm even when the tent collapsed due to the recent storm.
Kanchan Arora, AOA vice president of the Saviour Park Society, told yesterday that they met Bhaskar Verma, ACP of Ghaziabad, and requested to arrange a meeting with the builder so that their problem could be resolved soon. "Apart from this, the stray dog's issue is still the same, and no one has done anything to resolve it," adds she.
Sandeep Verma, a resident of Saviour Park Society, Ghaziabad, informed that nothing had changed since day one but they would stand firm until their demand fulfilled. He says, " Despite the pressure from the police and the administration, the builders have neither come forward to negotiate nor removing the deficiencies, due to which the residents are angry".
