Noida-Greater Noida and YEIDA Collaborate for Seamless Development

The Industrial Development Commissioner and Chairman of the Noida-Greater Noida Authority, Manoj Singh, has instructed the preparation of an integrated planning for the development and settlement of the Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Industrial Development Authority areas. The planning will include traffic connectivity, public transportation, and road construction.

Currently, the planning of the three authorities is done independently, which results in slower development. Therefore, if all three authorities plan together, it will result in better and faster development. Additionally, one city can learn from the challenges of another city. Especially, Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Authority areas can learn from each other and prepare in advance. By using similar lighting for roads and other works, the three authority areas will not be seen separately.

Until now, all three authorities worked independently, which caused problems in the execution of projects. For instance, if the Noida Authority prepared a plan for resurfacing the expressway and making an underpass, the Greater Noida Authority ignored it. If the Greater Noida Authority had started the resurfacing work, then the entire Noida-Greno Expressway would have been ready as one. However, a four-kilometre stretch of the expressway falls in the Greater Noida area. Moreover, the resources for sewerage treatment differ among the three authorities. If Noida has reached tertiary treatment, many areas of Greater Noida face a crisis of non-availability of STPs.

Sanjeev Kumar, senior vice president of DDRWA, welcomed the move by the chairman of the Noida-Greater Noida Authority, Manoj Singh. He further said that it would improve the development of public transport, the construction and beautification of roads, etc.
