Overflowing hanging dustbins in the markets premises across Dwarka are exposing the truth of the management of sanitation. Hundreds of such dustbins which once were placed in the market premises have become a cause of concern for the community as they are not being taken proper care of garbage clearance and their maintenance on time. Now in many places, garbage can be seen scattered around such dustbins in the premises of the markets. Not only this but also such dustbins are lying broken and uprooted from the base too. It seems that the MCD is not concerned about them. Anjana Sinha, president of Dwarkadheesh Apartments Sector 12 says, “Broken and overflowing dustbins are showing the poor monitoring and maintenance by Municipal Corporation of Delhi(MCD). As soon as you enter the market of Sector 12 you would be welcomed by overflowing filthy dustbins. How could the officials make these dustbins a cause of filth even if they are placed for cleaning in the area.”
People are saying that all such dustbins have become a nuisance in place of relief in Dwarka. In the big markets like Sector 12, Sector 4, Sector 5, Sector 10, Sector 6, and in Sector 7 around Ramphal Chowk such dustbins can be seen easily in such conditions. Even in the small markets at Sectors 2, 3,6,10,7,12, etc, such dustbins are less in number yet poorly maintained as far as the garbage clearance on a regular basis is concerned. People say that MCD is not serious about making them clean on time. “This is surprising that the area councilors and the other MCD officials visit the market areas but do nothing. On the other hand, the market people have no concern for the dustbins. This is complete negligence on the part of the authority and also the community who too failed in making the dustbins maintained through MCD,” SK Singh senior citizen from Sector 4.
On the subject, SDMC officials said to take the subject into concern and do the needful.
