Exotica Fresco: Incidents of vehicle collision rise with closing of nearby cut

A resident of Exotica Fresco, a high rise in Sector 137, Noida, had a close shave from what could have been a bigger tragedy when he was coming out in his car from society gate. As he was exiting from the gate, his car was hit by another one from the front.

Commuting outside the society has become really dangerous since the closing of a cut around hundred meters away from the gate. Now, the commuters brazenly drive in opposite direction risking accidents on the road.

In fact, in another incident, two cars collided just few days after the closing of cut. Residents complained that the authority had not consulted them before the cut was closed four days ago. They claimed that it is now resulting in rampant violation of traffic rules.

A resident of the society, Pramod Taragi informed that a fellow resident of his society had also met with a minor accident on Friday morning. When he came out from the society and took left turn to go towards Sector 137 metro station, another commuter driving in opposite direction hit his car few meter away from the society.

“Although he noted the car number and reported it to the local police, offender escaped as he was driving in the wrong lane of the road,” he added.

Taragi, who is an IT professional, complained that this happened due to violation of traffic rules. He said that a cut, which was after the metro pillar on road leading to Sector 137 from Sector 92, was closed without considering residents' convenience in mind.

Taragi also complained to Noida Authority and traffic police via social media handle and demanded opening of the cut closed recently. He said that they were demanding speed breaker on this road to limit the vehicles' speed but the Authority failed to meet the demand. On top of it, the Authority closed the cut.

Another resident said that they have also seen buses of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) going in wrong direction. Himanshu Pant, another resident told that he has also written to the Noida Authority demanding corrective action for restoration of the cut.

According to Rajeev Tyagi, General Manager with Noida Authority said that the cut has been closed by city traffic police not by the Authority.

On Contacting Anil Kumar Jha, SP Traffic, he said, “Complaints of accidents were received from residents of societies in the sector 137. Then it was proposed to close the cut for their safety. But, it was closed, they are saying that accident is taking place due to this.”

He assured that the spot will be visited again by his officials to study the best option for avoiding accidents on this road.

Ghaziabad civic body starts issuing notices to bulk waste generators across city

The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has begun serving notices to the bulk waste generators in the city asking them to dispose of and treat their wet/organic and solid waste generated by themselves.

The bulk waste generators are a category where an organisation generates waste of 100 kilograms per day and more. Residential societies, schools, colleges, and hotels fall in this category.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner of GMC, Pramod Kumar, informed that these organisations are being sent the notices currently. He also informed that several housing societies of Vasundhara Zone, especially in Kaushambi area have got such notices wherein their managements have been asked to come up with a waste disposal plan failing which a penalty and legal action can be taken against them.

"One of such notices has been sent to Satpura Tower in Vaishali," Kumar added.

Pramod Kumar said that under Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, the bulk waste generators will need to dispose of the organic waste while the other categories of waste namely 'dry and hazardous' will be taken away by a vendor or Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam through doorstep collection.

"Very soon, all housing societies in Vasundhara and Vaishali will be sent notices to start their own waste disposal," Kumar concluded.

Shipra Sun City: Kids make adults aware of 'road rage' through street play

Road rage is a grave civic offence which often leads to serious casualties of parties indulging in it. Hot-headedness and uncontrollable anger are the reason behind this problem. However, it could be controlled if its risks become a matter of public discussion. The initiative to bring out this underrated problem in public has started, by the children of Shipra Sun City, Ghaziabad. On Friday evening, the kids performed a street play in the society park in an attempt to bring awareness about this dangerous habit in which adults generally engage.

With their 20 minutes of performance in front of more than 100 people, the kids staged the root cause of road rage incidents and their perils through the play named 'Hatke-Bachhke'. The play directed by Arvind Gaur of Asmita theatre group was staged after a workshop of over two months.

"More than an offence, it is an uncultured act which should not happen in a civilised society," said Rati, one of the organisers of the play.

"A mere moment of fit of rage, people even kill each other for petty issues like abrupt overtaking of their vehicles by another vehicle. This is dangerous," Rati added.

"While the adults are adamant, they do not listen to people of their age. Hope coming from the kids, the parents and others would take the advice of not indulging in road rage incidents seriously," Rati commented.

In terms of magnitude, road rage incidents are exponentially rising in India. In 2015, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reported over 45,000 incidents that caused injury under ‘rash driving’ and ‘road rage’.

To take this into account, some lawmakers, police departments and other stakeholders are demanding that ‘behaviour patterns’ that qualify as road rage be defined under the Motor Vehicle Act, which is pending key amendments.

In 2018, V Vijay Sai Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP of the YSR Congress Party, speaking in the Parliament, demanded a definition of ‘road rage’ included in the Motor Vehicle Act.

File FIR against violators of construction norms, orders Gurugram DTCP

Taking a tough stand against the violators, the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), Gurugram has instructed the officials concerned to initiate action and lodge FIR against those property dealers and landowners indulged in illegal construction across the city.

This was announced in the departmental review meeting held at Power Grid Hall, located in Sector 29 on Friday.

During the meet, director of the Town and Country Planning, KM Pandurang reviewed the progress of building plans, occupation certificates, license cases and directed the District Town Planners (DTPs) to settle matters in a time-bound manner emphasising that the Change of Land Use (CLU) is allowed only for 45 days, hence there should be timeline.

The application of CLU is to be followed within the time limit so that the public processes are easy to scale. He also directed the Senior Town Planner (STP) circle for appropriate monitoring and vigilance in the respective district area.

The director of the department also reviewed the proposal for land transfer of the green belt, division of sectors, and 18-meter road and 24-meter road sector roads.

DTCP also expressed dissatisfaction with the laxity shown by the officers and emphasised the adoption of e-business / CM Window complaint cell in order to speed up the settlement.

Pandurang further instructed the District Town Planners to propagate the residential colony/scheme to the general public and persuade them to not be involved in unauthorised construction. He also said that the review meeting will be held every month in this regard.

The director, while concluding, instructed the DTPs to coordinate with the deputy commissioner and police administration for the smooth operation of the demolition drive.

Poorly maintained park irks residents of ATS Greens 2; Noida Authority callous!

Residents of ATS Greens-2, one of the luxury residential societies in Sector 50, Noida have complained against the abysmal state of their neighbourhood park. They said that the park has now literally turned into a dumping ground forcing them to stay away from it.

They said that heaps of garbage can be seen everywhere in the park. No cleaning and sweeping of the footpaths are being done.

noida news

"One cannot believe that it was one of the well-maintained parks," a resident claimed.

Vandana Maheshwari, a regular visitor of the park and resident of Sector 50 said, "The park besides A-57 in Block-A of the sector, lacks cleaning and regular maintenance. The facilities are getting deteriorated here over the years. Everything is lying in a dilapidated state."

Around 4 to 5 years ago, this park was being maintained by a private developer, who did landscaping and the park was restructured accordingly. It was looking so nice that many residents of the society used to visit it frequently. But the state is poor now, it is badly stinking. None of the residents wish to visit this park.

Maheshwari, a vigilant resident of the sector took the pain of talking to the contractor appointed by the Noida Authority regarding the maintenance of this park. She told that despite warning the contractor and on-duty gardener of severe action, they did not bother to clean it.

"Though, they say that the park will be cleaned but it seems to be lip service. It is sheer negligence on the part of the authority which fails to maintain the facilities developed for residents," she added.

City Spidey tried to contact officials of the Department of Horticulture, Noida Authority but they were unavailable to comment.

'Prateek Wisteria complies with sewage treatment plant norms'

Prateek Wisteria, a high-rise in Sector 77, Noida is following the sewage treatment plant's norms, claims a test report prepared by Newcon Consultancy and Laboratory (NCL). The conclusion was made after it analysed the treatment of wastewater generating from society recently.

NCL, which is certified and recognised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), is an environmental technology development laboratory and consultancy service organisation.

noida news

It conducted a test of the treated wastewater of the sewage treatment plant in the above-mentioned society. According to the report by the NCL, it says that level of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS) and oil and grease are in compliance to prescribed parameters.

The report, which came on June 29, says that the sample collected from the society was tested and analysed. According to analysis, the BOD is 17 against the prescribed 30 per milligram. The COD is 78 against the prescribed 250 per milligram. TSS is also 28 against the prescribed per milligram.

The society got this test conducted amid the report circulated in media that the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board is likely to issue a penalty to seven high-rises in Noida. According to the report, UPPCB found these societies, which included Prateek Wisteria, in Sector 77, Supertech Capetown, in Sector 74, Golf City in Sector 75, JM Orchid in Sector 76, Aditya Celebrity Homes in Sector 76, Assotech Windsor Court in Sector 78, and Great Value Sharanam in Sector 107, not in compliance to the norms. As the violation or norms found, the UPPCB decided to imposed fine on these societies.

"The STP at his place is contracted to the third party for operation. He said that the society hired consultancy service for testing the treated water. The consultancy collected sample on June 25 and it submitted the report to us. According to this, the society is following the norms," Hemant Kumar, a resident of Prateek Wisteria said.

Nisha Rai, secretary of Prateek Wisteria apartment owners' association (AOA), told that though the control board is saying that these societies will be penalised for alleged violation of the norms, they remain unconcerned when the sewer water flow in reverse direction from the public drain lines. She demanded that the pollution board should make the report of STP's norms violation public.

Rainwater harvesting: Residents across Delhi-NCR should take cue from this story

A lot is being talked about and discussed regarding ways to conserve water. One such effective way is rainwater harvesting. It is a practice of storing rainwater for future use instead of allowing it to run off.

Padma Kruti Apartment in the Citylight area, Surat is leading by example when it comes to rainwater harvesting. The video shows a resident stressing on its importance and ways to accumulate it while getting drenched in heavy rain!

Though several initiatives are being taken by the residents' welfare associations (RWAs) and management of residential societies across the cities covering Delhi-NCR, the method will benefit all only if it gets practiced in each and every household of our country.

RESIDENT SPEAK: 'DJB should work instead of holding workshops on water issues'

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Tuesday organised a workshop to aware the people of the sub-city of various ways to save and store water. Officials of the department concerned, through lectures and powerpoint presentations, explained the general public about various methods to practice rainwater harvesting and ways to use wastewater.

But if you look at the state of water management in the sub-city, the workshop was a mere formality and even, a tasteless joke! One can easily find leaking pipelines all across the area. Wastage of thousands of litres of water every day is simply failing a good meaning initiative by the water department. In such a scenario, what is the point of conducting such workshops if the authority itself is not able to curb the problem in the first place?

DJB is well aware of the persisting problems but seems to give no heed to the issue. This is a serious matter that needs to be addressed promptly. Officials of the board should ensure that not even a single drop of water gets wasted, only then these workshops will make an impact in the community and sensitise people about water conservation.

Prateek Fedora: AOA election runs into controversy with arbitrary rules

With fresh round of Apartment Owners Association (AOA) election scheduled on June 30 at Prateek Fedora, allegations and counter allegations among the residents regarding non-compliance of the norms of UP Apartment Act has reached to a new level.

The society, which has nearly 250 flats, is located in Sector 61, Noida. It was established in 2013-14 and since then elected management committee (AOA) has been looking after the management despite having various difference on issues among its elected members.

However, the fresh conflict which has emerged is more serious than previous ones. It has come to the fore that around 76 flat owners were declared ineligible for neither contesting elections nor voting in the elections.

As per the information, in the last general body meeting (GBM) held last month, the managing committee issued a notification demanding that flat owners have to submit the copy lease certificate of the property. Apart from it, extending the criteria of proxy voting was another issue which many residents opposed. They also did not submit their lease certificates of their flats.

“What surprised us that till last elections, we all were eligible for voting and contesting the elections. I think opposing their unjustified rules worked against us,” said a resident on condition of anonymity whose name was missing from the new list of members of the society.

Displeased with the dictatorial decision by the management committee, they said that a group of residents have complained to the registrar office in Meerut and the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar and have sought its intervention to conduct fair elections.

A letter submitted to the competent authorities (District Magistrate, Noida authority and Registrar office) signed by 20 flat owners has called the current managing committee defunct as its tenure ended on April 17 this year. They further claimed that out of the three members in the committee constituted for conducting election, two have resigned and hence the committee stands dissolved.

These residents also claimed that the committee had fixed the date of April 21 for the elections and a notice in this regard was issued on March 21. However, the election committee postponed the date and has fixed June 30 for the election.

“This committee has changed proxy voting bye-laws on its own and has demanded lease deed certificates of flats which we have opposed,” said Amitabh Srivastava, one of the complainants.

Dinesh Batra, another resident, talking to City Spidey said, “When two of the members out of three have resigned from the post then this election committee is itself ‘null and void’. And even if election is conducted it won’t be justifiable.”

However, the opposition differed with the claims mentioned above and said that the appointed election committee tried its best to conduct fair elections.

According to Namit Gautam, who served as treasurer in the previous managing committee said, “The committee has observed that there were misuse on the name of proxy voting and therefore this time the committee demanded a copy of lease deed of flats to ascertain the authentic flat owners. As many as 96 flat owners have participated in voting for proxy voting and out of them, 65 had supported while 31 disagreed with it.”

“In the previously held elections, it was observed that many members were added for voting even from unsold flats. Apart from all these, in joint ownership of flats, only first owner is eligible for vote and contest elections. So there were many loopholes which the EC tired to avoid this time. They may have complained to the authorities but we have not received notice so far,” he added.

Proview Laboni brawl case: Ghaziabad police arrest 5 accused

Taking prompt action, the Ghaziabad police arrested five accused wanted in the case of attacking guards of Proview Laboni, a high rise in Crossings Republik, from ABES cut on Wednesday.

The accused are identified as Omvir Singh, Rohit, Himanshu, Deepak, and Feroz. All of them are residents of Dundahera, a village which falls adjacent to the township.

The accused were at large after the incident happened on Sunday night where a group of 7 to 8 men attacked three security personnel, including the supervisor of the society, with sticks and sharp weapons, allegedly after a car was denied entry inside the complex. The attackers also vandalised the guard room in an incident that was caught on CCTV.

The attack took place on the same day after the main accused, identified as Omvir Singh, went to visit a resident of the society. He wanted to park his SUV inside the society but was denied entry, police said. Singh then got into an argument with the guards. He threatened them and went away.

Later that night, at around 9:25 pm, a group of 7-8 armed men with sticks and swords came and attacked the guards, hitting one of them on the head. As the security supervisor ran inside the room to call for backup, some of the men went after him and vandalised the guard room. The men also broke the boom barrier at the entry of the housing complex and fled the scene soon after.

An FIR was filed two days after the incident based on the complaint of Ujjawal Mishra, president of Apartment Owners' Association of the society at the Vijay Nagar Police Station.

All the accused are booked under Sections 147,148 (rioting with deadly weapons), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of Indian Penal Code.

GreNo Authority files FIR against manager for illegal felling of trees

After the illegal felling of trees in the area, the Greater Noida Authority has filed an FIR against the manager of the proposed petrol pump who was behind the action. The FIR was registered at the Ecotech-III police station.

On Wednesday, the members of Noida Extension Flat Owners Association (NEFOWA) members saw felling activities near Amrapali Mall opposite to the The Millennium School.

They immediately stopped the people from felling trees. But they were shown permission letter from the horticulture department. However, after examining the permission letter, they got to know that permission was given for felling of 56 trees.

However, as they claimed, more than 400 trees were uprooted which was way beyond the permission.

NEFOWA had then complained about the matter to the Greater Noida Authority. President of NEFOWA, Abhishek Kumar said that the number of felled trees mentioned in the FIR is very less than the actual number.

He said that they will continue to monitor the progress in the case and will make sure that such activities are not repeated in future.

There is a 60-meter wide road from Surajpur police line to Kisan Chowk. The site where felling of trees were witness is alongside this road on the green belt.

Kumar said that the manager of the petrol pump had started felling trees with the help of a JCB machine. They had immediately raised the matter to the police, forest department and the Authority. But, by the time the officials arrived, the people involved in felling of trees escaped from the spot.

Noida: Sewage overflow long-standing issue at Sec 27, residents demand new line

Disturbed with the frequent waterlogging due to overflow of sewage water in the area, the residents of Sector 27, one of the poshest residential societies in Noida, have started demanding for a new sewer line to effectively address the problem.

Lokesh Kashyap, General Secretary of Residents Welfare Association (RWA) complained that residents, from block E and F, have been forced to brave the stink coming out from sewage water flooded on roads. He said that the sewage water is overflowing on road near house number E-200. It has been in this state for last four months.

Kashyap said that the issue was brought to the notice of Noida Authority but an action is still awaited. As the problem has not been addressed, residents of these residential block has been continuously suffering.

He said that the RWA has been demanding from the Authority to construct a new line for draining out the sewage water. “It is necessary to have new line for this sector as the old line, constructed at the time of construction of the residential sector, is not capable of carrying the flow of sewage being generated from the sector,” he added. apartment management system

Residents, living in the F block, have also been facing similar problem. Sewer drain along with the house number 25 to 38 in residential block F has now been entering houses. This is because of the construction materials which has been put on the drain obstructing the sewage flow.

But the officials from the Authority has been passing the buck on the issue rather than solving the problems faced by residents of this sector. SC Mishra, General Manager with Public Health of the Authority said that only cleaning of the drain comes under him as construction of new line is a civil matter.

While Vijay Rawal, Project Engineer under whose jurisdiction the area comes, had imposed fines on ones who had put construction materials on the drain line. The fine was imposed following green court's direction, which says the construction materials, if put up, should be covered for control of dust pollution.

Kashyap said that though these two officers had no plan to solve it, residents have been facing inconvenience. He said they should act to solve it as it can potentially cause health issues if not cleaned in quick succession.

CPCB penalises Ansal API for flouting environmental norms in Gurugram

Citing violation of environmental norms, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has directed the Ansal Properties and Infrastructure (API) to stop all construction activities for its township projects in the city. Besides, it has also been asked to pay Rs 14.69 crore as compensation.

In an order dated June 18, the builder of API was held guilty of discharging untreated waste for 281 days in its 604-acre residential complex at Sushant Lok, Phase 1 in Gurugram and was directed “to stop all the construction/expansion activities with immediate effect”.

Gurugram News

The pollution board claimed that the builder has encroached the green areas and has been illegally extracting groundwater without acquiring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA).

After the National Green Tribunal (NGT) intervened into the matter, CPCB issued directions to the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) and the CGWA to also separately charge environmental compensation from the violators. apartment management system

The board has also directed the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Haryana, to revoke environmental clearances, if granted, and also not let Ansal Properties and Infrastructure undertake any expansion activity till it complies with all the directions.

In this regard, the Haryana electricity board has also been asked by the pollution control body to stop power supply for any further expansion of the residential complex.

In a report prepared by officials from the departments concerned on September 19 last year, it was found that the sewerage system was not proper and even rainwater harvesting system for houses was not provided. Maintenance of roads, footpaths, and parks was also not up to the mark and system of collection of solid waste was not as per the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.

Greater Noida: Perennial issues with maintenance triggered brawl at AVJ Heights

The brawl that happened between two groups at AVJ Heights in Greater Noida on Sunday appears to be a long-standing conflict. Based on the information from the residents of the society, the conflict among the two groups had emerged with formation of the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) way back in 2016.

As City Spidey was informed, the developer of the society had then approached the registrar office in Meerut saying the society was yet to receive completion certificate from the Greater Noida Authority and hence the elected AOA should be dissolved.

Greater Noida News

Accordingly, two months after the AOA formation, it was dissolved by the registrar office. Since then, the conflict on accepting maintenance charges and others have been a conflicting issue in the society.

“After the AOA was dissolved, the management wrote letters to Greater Noida Authority and District Magistrate requesting them to appoint an observer to look after the daily maintenance issue of the society. However, observer was not appointed and problem for the residents mounted as entire maintenance system collapsed,” said Jaswinder Singh, one of the AOA members.

Meanwhile, another section of residents decided to form a group of volunteers among the residents to look after the daily maintenance issue including collection of monthly maintenance charges from the residents.

However, volunteers' team also faced the allegations. “Volunteers' team was formed on behalf of the builder and majority of residents were ready ready to accept it,” said, Ashish Parasar, another member of AOA. apartment management system

Later in August 2018, the society's developer was charged by Gautam Budh Nagar police for allegedly selling one flat to multiple persons. Since then, the builder is on the run.

Meanwhile, the AOA reached out to the Allahabad High Court against registrar’s order. The court on April 24 this year put an stay on registrar’s order.

“Until further order of this court, the operation of the impugned order dated 21/8/2018 and 28/1/2019 passed by deputy registrar, Meerut and commissioner shall remain stayed,” court’s order read. The court has fixed July 4 for the next hearing on this issue.

The fresh round of conflict began after the management (AOA) hired a third party to look after the house keeping of the society. “After getting stay from the court, AOA hired a third party (private firm) to look after maintenance issue. The situation had become worse and it was necessary to improve the situation at society better and provide services to the residents,” Parasar added.

On last Sunday, the day scuffle broke, head of the hired firm for house keeping management, Anil Baisla visited to the society, claimed a resident.

However, Ayushi Tiwari, one of the residents, who is involved in the conflict, has different view on Sunday’s fight. She claimed that she was sitting in her flat with couple of police officials. “I had called police as someone had tried to break my lock couple of days,” she said.

Tiwari further said, “Couple of AOA members along with bouncers barged into my flat and started abusing me despite I had nothing to do with this issue. They hurled abuses and thrashed me alleging that I am acting on behalf of the builder and creating hindrance on functioning of AOA.”

“Heated arguments were exchanged and suddenly it turned into fight. Police were called but the fight continued in their presence,” said a resident on condition of anonymity.

Couple of videos went viral on social media and both sides claimed that bouncers were called by the opposite party and the Greater Noida police is investigating the issue.

Both sides claimed to have lodged FIR against each other, however, according to the police only one FIR has been registered. “Only one party has lodged FIR and one person (Anil Baisla) was arrested. We are investigating the issue in detail,” said Munish Chauhan, SHO, Surajpur police station.

NEFOWA furious over felling of trees; raises matter to concerned authorities

The members of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) on Wednesday complained about the widespread illegal felling of trees in the area to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), District Magistrate (DM) and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).

Noida News

The large-scale felling was executed by owners of a proposed petrol pump. The NEFOWA members saw felling activities near Amrapali Mall opposite to the The Millenium School.

They immediately stopped the people from felling trees. But they were shown permission letter from the horticulture department. However, after examining the permission letter, they got to know that permission was given for felling of 56 trees.

But, they claimed that till the time intervention was done, approximately 500 trees had already been uprooted.

NEFOWA President, Abhishek Kumar said that he is keeping a close eye on the matter and he will be following up the development diligently. He was crestfallen as they have been raising the issue of deficient amount of trees and high amount of dust pollution in the area.

In fact, they have also planned an extensive plantation drive which will embark on July 7 in the area. They have set a target to plant 16,000 saplings of different species in the area.

Kumar said, “This is really heartbreaking to see such activities going on in the area. On one hand, we are making all sorts of efforts to plant as many trees as possible while on the other, we witness felling of existing trees. This should be immediately stopped. It would throw the ecological balance out of gear.”

Gardenia Square: Nine members elected unopposed to AOA board

After the election held at Gardenia Square, a high rise society in Crossings Republik, nine members formed the new Apartment Owners Association (AOA) board on Sunday. All the members were elected unopposed because of insufficient nominations.

Voting did not happen because only nine nominations were filed for nine positions. Out of nine members, four new faces made their way to the new AOA.

Speaking on the way forward, Vivek Sharma, Vice President of AOA said that overhauling of security and maintenance of the society is in the priority list. “Housekeeping and garbage collection is in shambles. Garbage is collected once in a week which is inadequate for 240 families living in the society,” he said.

“Besides, security guards are not fit and active. They are aged and cannot do vigilance actively. We will change them too,” Sharma added.

Gurugram: Waste management firm Ecogreen fined Rs 19 cr for 'negligence'

Citing apathy shown towards work, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has imposed a fine of Rs 19 crore on Ecogreen Energy, its concessionaire for waste management in the city. The fine has been levied on the Singaporean firm from 2017 until 2019.

Ecogreen has asked the civic body to refund the amount deducted till date whereas the corporation has justified the move, stating that penalty has been imposed on the firm for not delivering services.

Gurugram News

Further, the corporation has asked for the GPS record. Based on it, it will be ascertained whether the vehicles of the company are reaching all the houses or not. Apart from this, these vehicles will also be monitored on a regular basis through GPS.
apartment management system
Officials of the waste management company have alleged that the municipal body has imposed a hefty fine, violating the rules. They have demanded a full payback of the amount.

They have also met the commissioner of the MCG in this regard. But the claims made by Ecogreen seem to be baseless as residents of several high-rises across the city have complained against it for not working properly.

Almost a month ago, people residing in Mahindra Aura raised their voice against the company and its staff for not initiating services.

Talking to City Spidey on this issue, president of the society Yashesh Yadav said, “Despite making several complaints and agreeing to pay the said amount, Ecogreen is yet to address our concerns. We are forced to take services from the local waste collectors. Had the company doing its job properly, we would have cut down on the cost too.”

Meanwhile, officials of the Ecogreen stressed on the issuance of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) following which they will start providing services to the residents but this claim too by the company seems to be baseless because, in order to get into an agreement, they have to visit the society first and meet the officials of the management concerned to proceed further.

Similarly, residents of many high-rises have tweeted about the company and its callous approach towards the work related to waste management.

Ecogreen Energy began the work related to waste management across Gurugram in December 2017. It has been given the responsibility to carry out services like door-to-door collection of garbage, to set up a waste to energy plant at Bandhwari and collect garbage across the city.

UP-RERA imposes hefty fine on Ansal API for non-compliance of order

Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore on Ansal API for not complying its order of October 25 last year. The authority has asked the real estate group to submit the fine within one month.

As per the sources, the authority, however, has decided to defer its decision to de-register Ansal’s six projects for four months subject to certain conditions.

The real estate group has been asked to publish the details of escrow accounts of all six projects in newspaper. A chartered accountant from the CAG panel has been asked to do the audit of the company’s all projects.

All the associated banks have been asked to disburse money for construction of projects only after the approval of auditor appointed by UP-RERA. “The chartered accountant, architect and structural engineer have to provide a joint affidavit for this as well,” sources claimed.

“If the builder fails to follow the order, the authority will de-register the projects,” the authority said in a media release.

Earlier in October last year, the authority had ordered forensic audit in registered projects with a view to investigate the accounts of Ansal API to find out the possible diversion of funds which caused delay in completion of its housing projects.

AVJ Heights: Two groups indulge in ugly fight in presence of police

The long-standing internal conflict among the residents of AVJ Heights, a high rise in Greater Noida’s Sector Zeta 1 area, turned into an ugly phase when they indulged in ugly fight couple of days back.

As per the information from close sources in the society, the conflict have been a long-standing issue among the residents of the society. Sources said that the division among the residents emerged with Apartments Owners Association (AOA) elections couple of years back.

The claims to take over the maintenance and welfare issues of the society was one of the issues which caused the conflict. “Both the groups assaulted each other while the police remained silent watcher,” residents alleged. Greater Noida News

Since the Gangster Act was invoked on the builder Vinay Jain, the welfare issues of the society were looked after by the residents' association. Earlier, a group called AVJ Apartment Association, headed by D K Chowdhary and Ashish Parashar, was looking after society.

As of now, the society is looked after by team of volunteers headed by Mahesh Bhati. When AVJ Apartment Association tried to take charge in its hands again, fights erupted in the society.

“Sensing that the situation is going bad to worse, police was informed immediately and apprised about the incident. Local police reached to the spot, however, despite the cops being present, fight continued,” said a resident requesting not to be named.

A senior police in Greater Noida said that both the groups had earlier agreed over mutual settlement but they once again created ruckus and both the parties reached police station asking to register FIR against each other.

“Police advised them to resolve their issue among themselves and not to create panic among the residents in future otherwise police would take its own course,” official said.

Being an advocate himself, his daily routine is no less hectic. Travelling to work from his high-rise in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, he faces huge traffic jams and other issues. But being a responsible citizen of the country, he realises that his duty towards other members of the society is of greater importance.

Aggrieved and disheartened by the deaths of more than 150 children, mostly in the age group of 1 to 10 years, in the past few weeks made me go deep into the issue. What was troubling me more was the escalating toll. As a law-abiding citizen of the country, fellow human being and president of the legal cell of International Human Rights Organization, it became my prime duty to do something to mitigate the suffering of the parents and children.”

In reply, the apex court too admitted that it is a matter of great concern which should be addressed without any delay. Further, it has directed the Centre and the Bihar government to file their response to the medical care facilities being given in the state within 7 days. Besides, the bench of justices comprising Sanjiv Khanna and BR Gavai asked the state government to file an affidavit on the adequacy of nutrition, sanitation and the prevailing hygienic conditions in the region.

Noida: City Magistrate orders action against forceful closing of gate at Sec 82

City Magistrate Shailendra Kumar on Tuesday ordered police to take action against heads of the managements of  two residential societies who are not allowing opening of a gate in Sector 82, Noida.

Mishra told circle officer of Noida police, under whose jurisdiction the area comes, that office bearers of two different residential societies haven't been allowing the opening of the gate without administration's interventions.

Noida News

Though, rounds of meeting with Yogesh Sharma and Ramesh Yadav, respectively presidents of LIG and MIG, were convened to find a solution. They also agreed to the decision taken during the meeting but then they did not allow opening of the gate.

The gate, in question, which exists on east side of these residential societies, opens towards 24-meter wide road in the sector. During the meeting, president of these two societies told that opposite to the gate, the local village Gejha exists.

“If the gate is opened, probability of thefts in their societies increases and it can't be ruled out. It was decided that police patrolling of the areas would be enhanced to let the gate open. They had agreed to this decision but now they are not allowing opening of gate.

The Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority had ordered opening of the gate in 2018. But office bearers of these two residential societies overruled this order. “Considering this, an effective action has to be initiated against them for maintaining peace at the society,” Mishra directed.
