Dwarka: DJB organises workshop to sensitise people on water conservation

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Tuesday organised a workshop for the residents of the sub-city to aware them of various ways to save water.

In the programme held at Deen Dayal Upadhyay College (Sector 3), people of the area learnt about rainwater harvesting and methods to use wastewater through lectures and powerpoint presentations given by the officials of the department concerned.

Around 100 people attended the workshop. Besides residents, members of the residents' welfare associations (RWAs) and representatives of the societies were present too.

Talking to City Spidey, executive engineer of DJB, KS Shukla said, "In view of monsoon, we conducted this workshop. I must say the response was good as people were really curious to know more about water conservation."

Residents, who attended the workshop, gave their feedback and suggested the board officials take necessary steps to make each and every society practice rainwater harvesting. They also asked them to take strict action against those who do not follow the rules.

Sharing his experience, general secretary of Dwarka Forum and resident of Sector 8, Arvinder Singh Chatwal said, "Most of us are not aware of rainwater harvesting. During the workshop, I got to know several new information regarding it. It was really enlightening for me and others who attended it."
