GB Nagar: Police conduct mock drill to acquaint people on earthquake relief ops

As the cities of Noida and Greater Noida fall under seismic zone, which is prone to earthquake, the city police on Friday conducted a mock drill related to sensitising residents on disaster relief and rehabilitation operation.

The drill, which was organised in association with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Fire Service at Gautam Budh Nagar, held at five different prime locations including at a high rises residential society and at shopping malls in these two cities.

Elaborate arrangements were made at Antriksh Nature, a high rise residential society in Sector 52, Noida, to exhibit the post earthquake situations including relief, rehabilitation operations and evacuation at the affected buildings.

A temporary first aid center was set up to show how to serve to the earthquake affected people. During the activity, people were evacuated from top floors of the multi-storied buildings and were rushed to hospitals for treatment.

N P Singh, former President of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association, said that the mock drill was so informative that all residents gathered to enlighten themselves.

He proposed that a similar drill would be conducted for each and every residential pockets or societies so that they could enhance their knowledge and be ready to respond, in case of disaster if they meet, to the situation patiently rather getting nervous. visitor management system

According to the police, four other different locations where the drill held included Greater India Place, a shopping mall in Noida; Sharda Hospital, Knowledge Park, Greater Noida; Vikash Bhavan, Surajpur and Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. Officers from respective circle offices and police station were present during the mock drills at these locations.
