Dirty, smelly water in Noida sectors, so what's the Authority doing about it?

Residents of various Noida sectors are complaining that they have been getting dirty, foul-smelling water for the past couple of days. Despite several complaints to Noida Authority, no action has been taken.

Rishipal Singh, a resident of Sector 19, told City Spidey that the water supply to his flat on Monday was dirty and smelt bad. “We get this kind of water two to three days every week,” he added.
He also said that he had made several complaints with Noida Authority but the situation hadn’t changed. Noida Breaking News
Residents of sectors 12, 15, 20, 21, 27, 31, 45, 71 and 72, too, have similar complaints.
Aditya Kumar, a resident of Sector 71, told City Spidey that a few of them had also complained of skin infections and allergies due to the contaminated water. “In the last few months, electronic equipment such as our washing machines and ROs have also been damaged,” he added. Apartment management software
When City Spidey spoke to an official of Jal Nigam of Noida Authority, he said that the water canal in Ghaziabad had been cleaned today and he expected residents to receive clean water now. “If the situation is still the same, we will conduct an inspection of the water tank and fix the problem,” he added.

GDA says this road doesn't need repairs. What do you think?

In what can be called a snub to residents, Ghaziabad Development Authority, or GDA, declared a broken, potholed road in no need of repair. The road in question is an approach lane from the Kala Patthar road in Indirapuram leading to Amrapali Village, a residential high-rise in the city. GDA’s response came after a complaint was lodged on the civic body’s IGRS, or Integrated Grievance Redressal System.

Speaking to City Spidey, AOA members of Amrapali Village said they had been complaining to the authority about the broken road for some time now and had even submitted formal complaints. They also called into question the Yogi-led UP government’s promise to make UP roads pothole-free. Ghaziabad Breaking News
“We have been trying to get this road fixed for quite some time. Despite several meetings, we have not seen any real work on the road. We sent mails, formal complaints and then finally lodged a complaint on the IGRS. In response to our online complaints, we received a letter that said the road was alright!” said Rakesh Kumar, general secretary of the Amrapali Village AOA. Apartment management software
The response letter accessed by City Spidey says the road was inspected by officials and found to be constructed with concrete interlocking tiles, still in good condition, and hence in no need of reconstruction.
However, pictures have a different story to tell. They show the entire stretch of the approach road riddled with potholes, with muddy water stagnating in parts.

Malaria cases in Gurgaon touch 273, highest in five years

Despite Gurgaon having received less rainfall this year, the city has recorded as many as 273 cases of malaria till now — the highest in the past five years. Gurgaon Breaking News

Doctors are calling the number of malaria cases “alarming”. “The government is trying to make the city malaria-free by 2020, but the rate at which things are going, it seems a tough target to achieve. Malaria cases can be fatal if not treated on time,” said BK Rajora, Chief Medical Officer, Civil Hospital.
Even though the authorities have been carrying out regular fogging drives, there are areas where mosquito breeding is increasing. Apartment management software
Speaking to City Spidey, Ritu Mathur, a resident of Sector 56, said, “We have regular fogging in our area, but there have been malaria cases reported from here as well.”
The symptoms of malaria are usually fever, headache and shivering. Pregnant women, children and HIV patients are the most vulnerable. As per statistics from the World Health Organisation (WHO), almost 70 per cent of malaria deaths occur in infants and toddlers.

Ghaziabad: NHAI dashes EDMC’s hopes of reducing the height of landfill sites

Nearly a month has gone by after the Ghazipur landfill collapse. However, there seem to be no definite solutions in sight in terms of reducing the height of landfill sites in East Delhi.

Since there is no alternate ground to dump daily generated waste in East Delhi, EDMC was relying on the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to solve the problem. The clear expectation was that NHAI would utilise domestic waste for road construction.  Ghazipur News
However, yesterday all hopes were dashed when NHAI officials announced that landfill waste shall be used to construct only a 2 km stretch. The two agencies had signed an agreement last year according to which waste dumps in Ghazipur shall be used for constructing a 22 km long stretch of the Delhi-Meerut highway. Apartment management software
After the incident of September 1, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had directed the NHAI to start transporting the waste immediately from the landfill site. According to sources, NHAI is currently not in a position to use waste in its construction work. Incidentally as per the agreement, NHAI was to start lifting waste from the first week of November. Apartment management system
In an earlier report, City Spidey had stated that the two agencies were going to determine how they would share the cost in terms of waste segregation. Incidentally, only last week the Central Government has allocated an additional Rs 50 lakh for waste segregation at the site. This amount shall also be utilised for lifting waste.
NHAI’s current stand has put EDMC in a fix. Ruing the situation, Neema Bhagat, Mayor EDMC said, “When we signed the agreement last year we were informed that NHAI will use all segregated waste from Ghazipur that roughly weighs about 130 lakh tonnes for constructing a 22 km stretch. Now this has drastically come down to two kilometers. We had been assured that NHAI will help in reducing the height of waste landfill sites but now they have revised their plan.”

Noida: MoU inked on stray dog sterilisation

n a bid to decrease the number of stray dogs in the city, Delhi based Dr Chawla’s Pet Hospital has undertaken the job of sterilisation. Yesterday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the hospital management and the Noida Authority.

Per the agreement, sterilisation workers shall be given all facilities to start work in a hospital cum animal shelter that is located at Sector 94. This place is taken care of by the Noida Authority.

Earlier sterilisation of stray dogs was undertaken by the SPCA. Following an order issued by the UP Government in April, the contract between Noida Authority and SPCA came to an end in June this year. Apartment management software
According to officials of the Noida Authority, Rs 770 shall be spent by them on every dog’s sterilisation process.
RS Yadav, Project Engineer of Noida Authority informed City Spidey that the pet hospital run by Dr Sunil Chawla has already sterilised stray dogs in Rohini and Jaipur.
“The hospital has been hired for six months and the team shall commence work from the first week of October. The verification of the number of stray dogs that will come under their sterilisation drive shall be done by the RWAs and veterinary departments. The hospital will be paid every month on the basis of this verification,” Yadav added.

The Lotus Temple and The White House inspire Dwarka's puja pandals this year

Dwarka which is populated by the Bengali community is known for its innovative themes when it comes to Durga Puja pandals. This year has been no different. At Dakshinayan Apartments, Sector 4 the pandal resembles the monumental Lotus Temple.

A member of the Dakshinayan Puja Committee, Saurabh Mustafi said, “This year we decided to have the Lotus Temple as a theme for two reasons. First lotus is often seen in the hands of the divine mother and second it is our national flower. Besides a white lotus is also a symbol of peace. Our pandal is proving to be the biggest attraction across the sub city. Since the Lotus Temple belongs to another faith we have also tried to give a message of social and religious harmony by incorporating it as a theme.” Dwarka News
Mustafi said that this year more crowds are expected in Dwarka as the pandal themes are especially unique and there is a greater variety of stalls and cultural programmes. “We expect a footfall of more than 2 lakh people this year,” he added.
On the other hand, the gate of the huge pandal of Bangia Samaj at Sector 6 is a replica of the White House. Last year this pandal was styled like the iconic Sun Temple. Secretary of Bangia Samaj, BK Barua said, “We selected the White House as our theme because currently India is growing its relationship with the United States. Our pandal is the biggest in Dwarka with a standing capacity of 4000 people at a time.” Apartment management software
Across Dwarka, Durga Puja is being celebrated on a large scale. In Sector 4 pandals have been erected near the Modern Convent School and in the Dakshinayan Apartment Complex. In Sector 14, the Aagomoni Puja Committee has organised a mega affair at the DDA grounds. In Sector 22 it is the Deepanvita Puja Committee that has taken charge of the organisation.

Noida, be prepared. There won't be any power supply on October 8

With repair work to be carried out by PVVNL on the Sector-20 substation, electric supply to several areas of Noida city will be suspended for about eight hours on October 8. This substation houses a 220 KVA power line.

In fact, PVVNL seeks to repair and maintain all substations in Noida before Diwali so that people can get uninterrupted power supply during the season of lights. “Due to the ongoing Navratri festival, we have decided to carry out all repair work after the festival,” said a PVVNL official. Noida local news
This means, the official added, all work will be done in October now and will result in disruption of power supply to more than 14 power feeders.
Rakesh Kumar Rana, Superintendent Engineer of PVVNL, told City Spidey, the sectors that would be affected include 6, 8, 9, 10, 16, 19, 20, 23, 25, 31, 32 and Phase-2. Electricity supply in these areas will remain in 'silent mode' from 9 am till 5 pm. Apartment management software
Rana also informed that sectors such as 11, 12, 15, 22, 27, 33, 34, 49, 55 and 56 will suffer partial disruption in power supply throughout the day. “After Sector-20 substation, repair work will be done in other substations located in Sectors 11, 16, 45, 46, 47, 50, 66, 108, 123 and 132 - all to be completed before Diwali,” he assured.
With all that done, post Diwali PVVNL hopes to provide Noida power 24/7. "Yes, we wouldn't want to cut off power supply anymore in any part of the city,” Rana said.

Traditional Garba grips Saya Zenith, I'puram

A casual evening conversation at Saya Square, a meeting point at Saya Zenith, became the fuel for the festival-friendly Indirapuram society to hold another memorable event on September 27, the seventh day of Navratri. Yes, residents of this upscale highrise housing complex rang in the festivities in each others company as they danced the night away.  Indirapuram News

The idea came from Mrs Dave, a popular woman resident of the society, who expressed her wish to play Garba as Navratri is the most awaited festival for Gujaratis. Garba and Dandiya celebrations are not just about dance and fun but a symbolic way of praying to Goddess Ambaji (Durga) for strength to overcome evil.
Of course, the idea had many takers and soon several volunteers came forward to organise the event. Even though it was a working day, residents trouped in full throttle. Women, children, grandparents and men gradually came out of their nests post 7.30 pm to join in full force.

Will NGT listen to Noida Authority's plea?

In a recent development, Noida Authority has filed a petition requesting NGT (National Green Tribunal) to temporarily lift its ban on the use of hot-mix plants. This will enable them to resurface a 5-km stretch of the Master Plan 2 Road. Officials are hopeful NGT will lift the ban at least for a fortnight within which work will be completed.

SC Mishra, Project Engineer, told City Spidey that NGT is scheduled to hear the plea on October 3. “The resurfacing work of the main and the service road will take 10 to 15 days. We hope to complete before Diwali,” Mishra said.
The stretch which falls under the city’s first elevated road (opened to the public on June 28) suffered damage during the construction of the elevated road. Thousands of commuters brave the road, pockmarked by potholes, daily.
On November 23, 2016, NGT had ordered the Noida and Greater Noida authorities, Gautam Budh Nagar police and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board to inspect the  construction sites in their areas and penalise those causing air pollution. Following the order, authorities had, among other measures, shut 21 hot mix plants too. Apartment management software
"The moment NGT lifts the ban we will get into action. The commuters will not face any problems on the road after that,” Mishra assured.

WATCH: GreNo school bus driver caught on the wrong side of the road!

Are school bus drivers following the CBSE guidelines mandated by the district magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar? By the looks of it, no!

A driver of Modern School in Greater Noida was seen plying the bus on the wrong side of Beta 2 Road. As if that wasn't enough, he wasn't even wearing a uniform, as this video shot by a passerby Harinder Bhatti revealed. Apartment management software
The DM, BN Singh, had instructed schools to ensure that drivers wore a uniform with the school name embossed on it.
Bhatti, a member of Active Citizens’ Group, told City Spidey that most school drivers don’t wear uniforms. “The DM had instructed all schools of the district on the issue of safety of school children, but as the video shows, schools are not serious about the matter,” Bhatti complained.
H Tiwari, assistant return transport officer (ARTO) of GB Nagar, said, “We will take immediate action and will send a notice to the school management. We will pull them up for such open violation.”

Noida, will you let SPCA down its shutters?

Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), a hospital-cum-shelter for animals in Sector 94, Noida, is failing to meet its daily expenses and is on the verge of downing shutters. Why? Noida Authority has not disbursed any funds to it since the last four months.

The shelter, which has been a home for distressed animals for 12 long years, is unable to pay its staff or carry out its daily chores.
In the words of a staff member, “We have no money for food or medicines for nearly 1,000 animals. We don’t know how the hospital will meet its daily expenses.” Apartment management software
The facility has dogs, birds, bulls, cats — and even langurs and donkeys.
The authority is supposed to disburse Rs 10 lakh every month to the hospital.
The contract between the authority and SPCA ended in June this year, owing to an order issued by the UP government in April. After the scrapping of the contract, all members of the NGO had voluntarily continued to work.
Anjali Sharma, a former SPCA member, told City Spidey, “The staff members have not received any payments for the last three months, and now my friends and I are pitching in.”
Workers at the shelter have complained that they have not been able to buy food, basic medicines and even and bandages due to lack of funds. The one ambulance that the shelter has has not been taken out in the last week because there’s no money for diesel.
According to them, the shelter needs at least Rs 20 lakh every month to run smoothly.
In these difficult times, volunteer Sonia Singh, a Noida resident who has been regularly contributing to the shelter, has held on tight. She said,  "I have been buying necessary things from my money and asking my friends to contribute as well."
According to SPCA officials, many animals were turned away due to non-availability of medicines.

Jal Nigam to halt Ganga jal supply for about 22 days

Ganga jal supply to the Vasundhara zone, Indirapuram and Noida will be suspended for about 22 days starting tomorrow. The supply will be stopped by Jal Nigam, owing to annual maintenance of the Ganga canal by the irrigation department.

The canal will undergo cleaning of silt and also repairs. Officials of the irrigation department said the canal will remain closed till Chhat puja. Apartment management software
Speaking to City Spidey, officials of Jal Nigam said if the irrigation department releases water in the canal on October 20, it will reach the Ganga jal plant till late night and supply will resume the next day.
Jal Nigam supplies water to the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, the Ghaziabad Development Authority and the Noida Authority. Neelam [she doesn't use her last name], project manager of Jal Nigam, said, “Areas under them will primarily remain affected due to the suspension.”
She also maintained that there’s no back-up supply for now, and consumers will have to make alternative arrangements on their own.
However, managements of high-rises in Indirapuram maintained that the suspended supply will make a difference to the daily requirements by just 10 to 15 per cent. “Most of our water is extracted via borewells and Ganga jal supply meets only a small portion of our daily requirements. The suspension, of course, will lead to a slight increase in the daily groundwater extraction,” explained Mohit Dwivedi, president of Krishna Apra Garden.

These are the four pujos you can't miss in Noida

Durga Puja celebrations are on in full swing, and Noida can give any CR Park a run for its money. City Spidey takes you on a tour of the four best pandals in the city.

1. Kali Bari, Sector 26
If we are talking about Durga Puja, Kali Bari has to top the list. In its 35th year, the puja was inaugurated by BN Singh, district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar. All arrangements have been done by the Noida Bengali Culture Association (NBCA).
The pandal may be traditional but you can’t miss the Durga idol, or protima, which is 28 ft tall - the biggest in Noida! According to Rajat Banerji, committee secretary, the footfall has been about 20,000 today. apartment management software
In the evening, a host of Bengali singers from Kolkata will be performing on stage.
2. Opposite the Sector 50 community centre
If pujo is synonymous with the earthen lamp, then this pujo definitely wanted to make a big impression. The entire pandal is in the shape of one!
Debasmita Sarkar, a pandal committee member, said, "Durga pujo can never be complete without earthen lamps, so this year we decided to create a pandal that embodied this theme."
The puja, in its 13th year, has been organised by the Saptarshi Sangha Trust, which has more than 200 Bengali families as members. What’s more, all the decorations have been done by the women of the sector.
3. H Block park, Jalvayu Vihar, Sector 25
Gram bangla, or rural Bengal, is the theme of this pujo, which is now in its 25th year and is organised by the Sanskriti Kalyan Samiti, with about 215 members. The protima is daker shaaj ekchala, which means that all the five deities are part of one unified structure.
Sandeep Ghosh, a committee member, said, "The alpona, or the traditional motifs, inside the pandal has been done by the women and children. The drapes used for decoration are hand-printed too."
4. C Block, Sector 34
This puja, being celebrated for the past 10 years now, is being organised wholly by Bengali residents of the sector.

Three cheers for Gurgaon St Xavier's for its green act!

In an effort to showcase their concern for the environment, kindergarten children of St Xaviers High School, Sector 50, Gurgaon, presented a skit, Our Mother Earth, on Tuesday.

The idea was to increase awareness of the dangers facing our environment among children.

The skit was a combination of dialogue, music and dance, which kept the audience entertained and enthralled.
While the skit showed the children how everyone must protect trees, it also spoke of how Gurgaon was more concrete buildings and traffic, than flora and fauna.
Speaking on the occasion, Niketa Baheti, coordinator of the junior wing, said, "Such events help educate children in the most creative way. The children have worked hard for past 15 days and have today presented the act beautifully." Apartment management software

At least someone at the UP RERA is listening to homebuyers!

After flat owners demanded a local RERA office in Noida or Ghaziabad, a mail from the official RERA email assured them that their request would be escalated to the “higher authorities”. The reply came in response to a mail addressed to the Ministry of Urban Planning & Development, also marked to the emails ids of the UP RERA website. Contactuprera@gmail.com responded to the mail, saying: “We can think in the future [sic]. Your request will be forwarded to higher authority.” noida local news

The mail, originally sent by the Federation of Apartment Owners Association, or FedAOA, had mentioned that while Noida and Ghaziabad had the highest concentration of high-rise societies in Uttar Pradesh, these societies were fraught with infrastructural issues. A slew of real estate problems existed as well. Hence, a local centre would ensure that complainants would not have to make continuous rounds of the Lucknow office several hundred kilometres away.
Speaking to City Spidey, Alok Kumar, president of FedAOA, said that the response was a good sign, as it showed that the residents’ calls were not at least falling on deaf ears. “We are hoping that something good comes of our efforts. We are also trying to get in touch with the ministerial committee formed for resolving builder-buyer issues and told to conduct one-on-one sessions between the ministers and buyers,” Kumar added.

Ghaziabad real estate developer commits suicide

A Ghaziabad-based real estate developer, Sanjay Singhal, shot himself dead at his residence in Kavinagar last night. Singhal was the co-owner of Charms India Group, which owns various projects in Ghaziabad.

Police said Singhal had used his licensed revolver, which has now been seized.  His wife and younger son were present in the house at the time of the incident.
According to the police, last night Singhal had returned home around 11.30 pm, along with his driver Ghanshyam. He then went to his room, bolted the door and shot himself.

Hearing the sound of the gunshot, his family broke open the door and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Sarvodaya Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The body has been sent for post mortem. apartment management software

The police has not yet established the reason behind the suicide yet. However, his Facebook account shows that he had shared a post - an online petition - about the suicide of a Maharashtra-based real estate developer. The developer mentioned in the post, Suraj Parmar, had similarly shot himself dead in October 2015, citing the complex process of government approvals in the real estate sector as the reason. He had also left behind a note alleging harassment by politicians and officials.

SSP Hari Narayan Singh said, “We have not found any suicide note yet and the matter is being investigated. The reason behind the suicide can only be affirmed after the investigation is complete.”
Buyers of Charms Castle, one of the upcoming residential projects by Charms India Group, say they now expect a slight delay in the ongoing possession and handover process. They also feel that the pace of work in one of the under-construction towers of the society may slow down. The company has already completed one of its projects, Charma Solitaire, in Indirapuram a few years back.

Homebuyers and FedAOA are screaming themselves hoarse about the UP RERA website

Again raising the issue of the “sham” UP RERA website, the Federation of Apartment Owners Association, or FedAOA, an apex body of flat owners’ association in Ghaziabad, has written to the minister of Urban Planning and Development, with a request to enquire into the issue and set it right. The UP RERA website was launched by the state government amid much hope from flat buyers in July this year.

Speaking to City Spidey, Alok Kumar, president of FedAOA, maintained that the website violated almost all the clauses of Chapter IV of the Uttar Pradesh RERA rules, which mainly dealt with the details real estate developers are to publish on the website. Kumar said that the website had barely 10 per cent of the information it was supposed to have.
“It’s not only the builders, the Authority’s own website is in direct violation of the RERA rules,” Kumar said.
“The website came as such a ray of hope for us. There was a time when we actually felt we would no longer have to file RTIs and make incessant rounds of the development authority to find information on projects, but this website has us,” Kumar added.
Right after the launch of the website, homebuyers and apartment owners called it a half-hearted effort and a misleading gesture of temporary respite. The website is laden with flaws and misleading information. Having flagged these issues on several occasions, the flat owners now say there has been little impact of their efforts and the website remains as is. They also pointed out wrong information of several projects on the website.
But will their voices be heard?

Ryan International School finally resumes operation

Ryan International School, Bhondsi, finally resumed operations yesterday. It had opened for two days and then again shut down.
The school had first reopened on 18 September after the gruesome murder of 8-year-old Pradyuman Thakur in the school toilet, but there was hardly any turnout and the security lapses had continued.
Yesterday though the attendance was normal, parents and students both seemed hesitant and anxious.
The school has employed new staff in the security and administration departments, and two people have been deployed at the main gate to help the children. Gurgaon news

School staff deployed at the gate to help the children

Parents who came to drop their wards were assured by the deputy commissioner of Gurgaon, Vinay Pratap Singh, about the heightened safety provisions adopted by the school. Apartment management software
"We were told that additional CCTV cameras have been installed and the boundary wall has been constructed," said Sushma Sharma, a parent, who is hopeful that the arrangements done now will provide long-term safety.
Another parent, Himesh Khatana, said, "My daughter was very scared after the incident and could not sleep for a couple of days. We had to really convince her to resume school." Apartment management system
A child who was seen clinging to his elder sister said, "I have come to school, but I don't want to go to the toilet."

Ryan International adopts stricter security on DC’s instructions

To tighten security on school premises, Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh has directed Ryan International School to adopt multiple measures. Gurgaon local news
The erstwhile security staff members were suspended, and the school now has new guards. The school has taken on additional women staff for housekeeping and security of children. They were seen registering themselves for ID cards at the venue. Verification of staff has been carried out.

Fibre sheets are put up on the main gate to block the view of the premises from outside

"These measures should have been taken when the school was set up," said Sushma Sharma, a parent. "They take huge amounts of fees from us, and didn't care to run verification on guards. That is totally unacceptable!” Apartment management software
The school has also blocked the view of the main building from the gate by panelling fibre sheets on the gate. A metal detector has also been installed.
"Earlier we could easily enter school without ID cards also. Now, they have kept a register for parents to make entries and we have been provided new ID cards.  This is only because of the deputy commissioner's instructions. This school was otherwise highly callous," lamented another parent.
However, even after heightened security it remains to be seen how many parents decide to continue with the school.

Haiyya volunteers connect with RWAs on waste management

The 25 volunteers chosen by Haiyya, a multi-issue Delhi-based NGO, are now ready to connect with RWAs and residents across the city for a hands-on training on waste management at source level.

Under its programme "Youth for Environment", Haiyya, in collaboration with URJA (United Residents’ Joint Action), had invited applications from people in the age group 18 to 40 years for a week-long training on environmental issues. Delhi Local News
Now successfully trained, these volunteers are coordinating with RWAs in their respective areas.
“Officials from government agencies and other experts in the field of environment taught the volunteers how to segregate wet and dry waste generated from kitchens and how to involve the residents for this purpose. Our volunteers are now on the move,” said Sukhmini Grover, a member of Haiyya, and co-coordinator of Youth for Environment.  Apartment management software
Last week, a camp was organised at Mehrauli, where over 50 RWA members joined the move.
To start with, volunteers are focusing on well-planned colonies.
Lalit Goel, an East Delhi volunteer, told City Spidey, “Every week, I reach out to at least one RWA. I started work from my own RWA in Vivek Vihar. I am also taking the help of government agencies. Last week, I met Harvinder Singh, the sub-divisional magistrate of Vivek Vihar, and he assured full support.” apartment management system
He added, “Most people know how to segregate their kitchen waste — my job is to mobilise such people to participate in the initiative.”

Ghaziabad: FedAOA demands for a local Real Estate Regulatory Authority

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Urban Development and Planning for UP, a consortium of Ghaziabad’s apartment owner associations have stated that a local office of RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) should be established either at Noida or Ghaziabad.

Explaining the need, the letter says that most problems, which buyers face today are somewhere related to local development authorities who more often than not fail to resolve the problems. Therefore, the letter stated that having a local presence of RERA shall translate to prompt redressal.
The apartment owners have also mentioned in the letter that while Noida and Ghaziabad have the highest concentrations of high-rise societies in UP, these societies are fraught with infrastructural challenges. A slew of real estate problems too exist.

The letter has been sent under the aegis of Federation of Association of Apartment Owners (FedAOA), an apex body of high-rise societies in Ghaziabad.
Speaking to City Spidey, homebuyers said that RERA’s presence in Lucknow is not really beneficial for them. “Given the geographical distance, the officials cannot effectively gauge on ground situations. In fact given our busy lives, contacting them is not feasible at all times.”

“Homebuyers had many expectations from the Real Estate Regulatory Act in the initial days of its inception. However, today the faith is clearly dwindling. The government too is not taking any measures to ensure that RERA is serving its purpose,” said Alok Kumar president of FedAOA.
“An independent and dedicated local office is the need of the hour. Officials from the local office can be easily contacted by all the flat buyers. Moreover, it can concentrate on local issues much more effectively,” Kumar added.
