Traditional Garba grips Saya Zenith, I'puram

A casual evening conversation at Saya Square, a meeting point at Saya Zenith, became the fuel for the festival-friendly Indirapuram society to hold another memorable event on September 27, the seventh day of Navratri. Yes, residents of this upscale highrise housing complex rang in the festivities in each others company as they danced the night away.  Indirapuram News

The idea came from Mrs Dave, a popular woman resident of the society, who expressed her wish to play Garba as Navratri is the most awaited festival for Gujaratis. Garba and Dandiya celebrations are not just about dance and fun but a symbolic way of praying to Goddess Ambaji (Durga) for strength to overcome evil.
Of course, the idea had many takers and soon several volunteers came forward to organise the event. Even though it was a working day, residents trouped in full throttle. Women, children, grandparents and men gradually came out of their nests post 7.30 pm to join in full force.
