In a unique initiative to promote the upkeep of parks in various residential sectors and colonies in Gurgaon, Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has announced a contest to rank out the best-maintained parks. With an expert committee constituted for this purpose, an assessment will be carried out on January, 2018, and placed before the public on February.
As many as 30 parks (with an area of 1 acre or more) and 20 parks (with an area that is less then an acre) will be identified for the purpose by the expert committee. Following this, a grant of up to Rs10 lakh (for parks that are an acre and above) and Rs 5 lakh (for parks with less than an acre) per park will be released to the RWAs that manage these parks.
