GreNo West: Cops book two men for assaulting security guard of Eros Sampoornam

Bisrakh police on Monday booked two men, accused of assaulting a 40-year-old security guard, for stopping them at the entrance gate to enquire their identity. The incident took place Sunday evening.

According to police, the guard has been identified as Bhikari Singh, who is employed with Eros Sampoornam, a high-rise in Greater Noida West. It all started when the guard stopped their car and enquired about them, asking them to wait till the time he confirms their details via intercom.

“Around 6 pm, two men and a lady entered the premises on a Scorpio. Bhikari, was on duty and as per the protocol, he stopped them and asked them where they were supposed to go. The man replied that he was there to visit his sister. When the guard told him to wait while he confirms this with the resident on intercom, the man became agitated and started threatening him. Meanwhile, his sister also came to the gate and he went in with her,” said Prashant Kumar, security supervisor of the society.

The situation actually worsened after an hour. “When they left the society, they parked their vehicle just outside the gate. After a while, 3-4 men came on motorbikes who came at the behest of the accused. One of them approached the security guard and smashed a chair on his head. He was bleeding profusely. They thrashed him badly and fled the spot," Kumar added. 

The injured guard was immediately taken to a nearby hospital by other members of the security department. 

Based on the complaint given by the guard, a case has been registered at the Bisrakh police station under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Cops are now on the lookout for the accused.

“One of the accused has been identified as Sonu, a native of Bisnoli village in Greater Noida. He is absconding at the moment. We are questioning his relative as well, whom he was visiting and hope to nab him and the other accused soon,” said Manoj Kumar Pathak, station house officer (SHO), Bisrakh police station.
