The pathetic condition of service lanes in Dwarka’s Sector 7, especially the one near Harsukh Apartments, Satisar Apartments and Kamal Vihar Apartments, have left the residents fuming.
The residents say that the road from plot number 4 to 6 (Harsukh–Kamal Vihar–Satisar) has been in a dilapidated condition for more than a year now. The surface is ridden with potholes at many places.
Ravi Jaitely, ex-joint secretary of Harsukh Apartments, said, “The bad condition of service lane is a major worry for us as we access it all the time to connect to the main road. The road is used by thousands of commuters daily and still the authorities aren’t bothered with its dilapidated condition. Recently, the road was dug up for laying cables, which damaged it further.” Dwarka News
The residents claimed that they have raised the issue with civic bodies and area representatives several times but nothing has been done so far. PP Soni, secretary of Kamal Vihar Apartments, said that they have written several letters and e-mails to officials and even raised the topic on social media. “These roads need to be repaired immediately,” said Soni.
This is one of the busiest service roads in the sub city as it is used by commuters coming from the Master Plan Road 201 and going towards Sectors 6, 7, 9, 10, 21, 22 and 23.
“The condition of the road is going from bad to worse daily. The issue must be taken seriously,” said a resident.
Speaking on the subject, a DDA engineer (on the condition of anonymity) said that the repair work will start soon on the lanes.
