Eight shops burgled in Sector 8, Dwarka

Thieves burgled eight shops on Friday night in a market in Sector 8, Dwarka. According to the owners of these shops, burglars broke down the shutter of the shops and stole the cash.

CCTV footage from one of the shops that was burgled shows four men breaking down the shutter and stealing cash from the drawer. “It seems that the burglars were aware about the layout of the shops and also knew where the cash was kept. I was informed about the incident at 6.30 am today. I immediately called the police,” said one of the victims on the condition of anonymity.

A case has been registered at Palam Police Station and the police said the investigation has started.

Meanwhile, the residents of the area blamed the lack of police presence at night for the incident. P Bhel, former president of RWA of Sector 8, said, “For the past many months, there has been no night patrolling in our sector. There should be at least one police picket in the area to avoid such incidents.”
