An an initiative to promote clean energy, Shiv Bhole Apartments, Sector 7, Dwarka, has installed a solar power system with support of BSES and a German company Giz. This step has been undertaken under Delhi government’s scheme Solarised Dwarka.
The apartment’s management committee has claimed that the solar power system started working from Thursday, and it would help reduce electricity bills by up to 25 per cent.
The system was inaugurated by Dr Wolframe Klein from Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, Government of Germany, BSES CEO Aman Sinha and members from the management committee of Shiv Bhole Apartments. Dwarka News

Secretary of the society, KR Anand, said, “Our society consists of 60 flats, and we adopted this system to minimise our electricity bills. Further, we have also sent a strong message to save the environment. With this initiative, we'll be able to cut down our bills by about 25 per cent. We spend about Rs 1.5-1.80 lakh per month on bills. This model will help us to save about Rs 600 to 700 per month per flat.”
The management committee gave permission for installing solar panels on the apartments' roof top.
“It will cost Rs 2 more on each unit and that will be for 25 years. We approved this model only after proper discussions with our managing committee and AGM,” said Anand.
The residents were overjoyed with the solar power system and the managing committee described it as an environment friendly initiative.
