MV I Ext: OCS Apts bans entry of unregistered maids

In an attempt to ensure the security of its residents, the managing committee of OCS Apartments, a co-operative group housing society in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension, has banned the entry of unregistered maids and other service employees into the society. The committee has issued a notice to all its 240 flat owners, asking them to provide identity proofs of their hired helps by August 10.

KK Verma, president of the society, said, “The managing committee must have a record of all its residents, service employees and visitors. Not doing this is a violation of society’s rules.”
It is the residents’ responsibility to hand over identity documents of any new hired help to the managing committee, so they can verify these and get their society registration cards made.

Verma added that in case of any untoward incident, it was the managing committee that was held responsible.

A member of the committee, on condition of anonymity, told City Spidey that the matter was brought to their notice by a security guard deployed at Gate No 1. “A few days back a security guard stopped a woman who said she was a maid, but when asked for her identity card, she didn’t have anything to show. The guard then had to call the flat owner to confirm that she indeed worked there.”

“We have given clear instructions to the security guards that they are not to allow anyone without a society-issued identity card to enter,” a committee member said.
