For the past few weeks, Noida residents have suffered from significant power cuts. Due to the rise in temperature, the problem of power fluctuation and tripping has increased in the city.
In recent days the temperature touched 42 to 45 degrees, making it unbearable for people to live without electricity. Frequent power faults are resulting in hour-long power failures. RWAs from different sectors have complained about it, but authorities do not bother to do anything.
Anil Kumar, RWA president of sector 53, informed us, “Yesterday there was a fault in the power station in the daytime. The power was restored after two hours, only to be cut off at midnight. The electricity went off again in the morning, and after two and a half hours, it came back.” He further said this happens almost every day.
He added several 5- to 6-story buildings are constructed in the village near the sector, and due to this, the power load in the area increased. Kumar said it is necessary to separate the electricity, water, sewer, and all the other arrangements of the sector and the village.

Sunil Wadhwa, RWA president of Sector 71, told us that Sector 71 B was also facing the same issue as, for the past few days, residents were facing power outages. He said last night there was no electricity in the sector for more than three hours and no electricity from 5 pm. to 9 pm.
RC Gupta, RWA president of sector 19, informed us that power cuts have become frequent. He said he had complained several times to the electricity department, but no one bothers to resolve the matter. He also wrote to FONRWA about the issues of power fluctuations.
Gajender Singh Bansal, RWA president of Sector 55, said there are several issues of power cuts because of old wires. We have demanded the authority to either change the wire or underground the electric wires, but the Noida authority has not responded to us. Every day, faults happen in one or two blocks of the sector.
According to Sanjeev Kumar, General Secretary of RWA Sector 51, there has been a rise in power fluctuations in Sector 51. Last night, several times power cuts happened, due to which we have requested, the electricity department to please take appropriate steps to solve the problem.
