Multipoint connections are being set up in all housing societies in the Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam district by the first week of June. The work of setting up multipoint connections is progressing rapidly, with 47 societies already completed. The remaining 10 societies, including Amrapali Silicon, Amrapali Princely, Amrapali Platinum, and Unitech, have been given a two-day deadline to provide their stance on the matter to the corporation.
The Electricity Corporation has reported that a total of 57 societies in Noida city will receive multipoint connections. The installation process requires 51% of residents to provide their consent. However, in some cases, builders do not seek consent from residents before initiating the process, resulting in the Electricity Corporation disconnecting the power supply to society due to a lack of response.
Multipoint connections provide economic benefits to residents, with at least a ₹1 difference visible in electricity bills. The rate for normal domestic connections is Rs 6.5 per unit, whereas single-point connections have higher unit rates and fixed charges. Therefore, residents stand to benefit greatly from the installation of multipoint connections.
The Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam reiterates that if 51% of residents in society provide their consent, they will proceed with the installation of multipoint connections.
