Ongoing farmers’ protest affect commuters in Delhi

Due to the ongoing farmers’ protest in the border areas, the commuters were badly affected in the city on Monday morning. Notifications were issued by Delhi Traffic Police and Delhi Metro about the restrictions in the city.

As per the Delhi Traffic Police, the diversion points in the city are Akshardham Setu towards Akshardham on NH-9, Max Hospital cut on NH-24 towards Hassan Pur depot, Ghazipur roundabout towards Anand Vihar and paper market towards Mayur Vihar Phase-3 to avoid Murga Mandi.

On the other hand, Delhi Metro informed the commuters about delay in services between Dwarka Sector 21 and Vaishali/Noida Electronic City on Twitter.

DMRC took to Twitter to inform commuters that entry/exit gates of Brigadier Hoshiar Singh, Bahadurgarh City, Pandit Shree Ram Sharma and Tikri Border were closed.

Traffic snarls were also reported from Delhi-Noida Link road (along Mayur Vihar Phase 1 and Extension) as the Public Works Department (PWD) restarted construction works on its under-developed flyover project.

Construction of flyover was started at Akshardham and it affected traffic on Ring Road, Maharani Bagh and Ashram areas as well. Massive traffic jam was reported on NH-9 near Samaspur village due to police barricades in East Delhi.

Traffic movement is now open on NH-24 from Ghaziabad towards Delhi, said Delhi Traffic Police.
