A list of 6,056 aggrieved homebuyers of six different Amrapali projects was submitted in the Supreme Court by their counsel ML Lahoty on Friday.
On August 26, a bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra had asked Lahoty to submit project-wise details of people residing in various apartments of the Amrapali group.
The list has been submitted for the registration of their deeds by the Noida and Greater Noida authorities as directed by the apex court on Aug 26.
“There are 11,000 homebuyers who await for their registry. On Friday the first list with over 6,000 people was submitted to the Supreme Court”, an Amrapali Zodiac homebuyer said.
Another homebuyer Joginder Singh of Amrapali Zodiac said, "There is a relief that something is being done. But tough time is ahead and the process for the registry will be difficult, as not everyone on the list will have all the required documents."
There are many homebuyers who took possession of incomplete flats and are currently living in dire conditions. Their fear of losing the money as well as their flats pushed them to take such a hard decision. Homebuyers of Amrapali Zodiac had even contributed over 1.5 crore rupees from their pockets to finish the necessary construction. While residents of Amrapali Zodiac had installed lift with the help of the residents' contribution.
