Talk on Ayurveda, its benefits held in Dwarka

Seniors Hub Dwarka, an NGO for senior citizens, on Thursday, organised a talk on Ayurveda. During the talk, experts from Sanjeevani Ayurveda addressed the gathering, making them aware of its benefits. They further explained how several diseases and ailments pertaining to joints and bones, diabetes, blood pressure, etc can be cured through this system of medicine.

Speaker CP Verma explained the essence and need of Ayurveda through his presentation.

He stressed on “Tryopstambha”, three pillars of life, which are diet, sleep, and celibacy:-

Diet- When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is not needed.

Sleep – Happiness, proper nourishment, strength, virility, knowledge and life itself depends on proper sleep

Celibacy (Brahmcharya) – It is a lifestyle required to pursue sacred knowledge for acquiring freedom from lust in thought and deed.

Sugeeta Mutreja, a nutrition consultant and obesity management expert also gave an insight on a special diet for diabetics. Besides, Vijay Sharma, a cardiac care expert provided technical support.

People in large numbers attended the talk and interacted with the speakers enthusiastically.

President of Seniors Hub, Dwarka, RK Jain while welcoming the members and speakers stressed the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle in the present time.

General secretary of Seniors Hub, Ravi Jaitley concluded saying, "Will organise more such talks in the months to come. Next talk would be on proper diet."
