Noida: Supertech Capetown charging extra amount for electricity supply

Apartment Owners Association of Supertech Capetown, a high rise residential society in Sector 74, Noida on Wednesday lodged a complaint with Chairman of Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF), D K Srivastava, claiming that the developer is charging extra amount for electricity supply.

In the complaint, the AoA told the court that the developer collected a sum of Rs 20,000 per kva excluding taxes from each resident for giving power supply to their flats. The amount being charged is exorbitant as compared to the prescribed rates by the distribution company, i.e. Rs 400 per kva, the complaint stated.

The complainants further pointed at the developer's persent load for the electricity supply, stating that he is authorised to provide only 6000 kva power, but he is illegally selling 15000 kva to the residents. They complained that the developer is allegedly levying several other charges on residents.

The AoA said that though the public distribution company issued instructions for the developer for taking corrective measures against these alleged illegal charges, but the developer failed to adhere to the instruction of the company. It forced them to move court seeking relief from these charges and supply deficiency.
