Dwarka kids draw, sketch and paint to save environment!

Ahead of the World Environment Day on June 5, a painting competition was held for children at the community hall of New Kanchanjanga Apartments in Sector 23, Dwarka.

With an aim to raise awareness and improve actions towards protecting the environment, Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKC), a social organisation, held the competition in which more than a hundred kids from various societies and underprivileged section participated.

The children were divided into groups according to their age. While younger kids were given a topic to draw and sketch, senior children were asked to sketch anything related to the environment. At the end of the event, the kids were given prizes.

DC Mathur, general secretary of SDKS, said, “Children really enjoyed the event. In fact, we were surprised to see how much these young minds know and are concerned about the deteriorating state of our environment. We will be doing more such programmes in the future.”

SS Mann, vice president of SDKS, said that on Sunday they will carry out activities on plantations and other things related to the environment.
