On Sunday, underprivileged children from various NGOs participated in a music event held at the community hall of Ashirvad Apartments in Sector 12 in Dwarka.
The event was organised by social organization, Age Well Association, and attended by more than a hundred people from various group housing societies in the sub city.
The audience were left spellbound as the young champions belted out hit songs of Bollywood as well as popular folk numbers one after another. Giving company to the kids were performers from musical groups in Dwarka.
Senior citizens also joined kids on stage and performed several old classics.
Indra Mohan Khanna, the president of Age Well Association, said, “We wanted to give these super talented children a platform to perform. It will help them in shaping their personality. This was our first such programme and it was heartening to see that the audience enjoyed it thoroughly.”
Singers from Dwarka Kala Sargam, a community musical group, also performed at the event. Just to name a few participants – RK Jain from Mass Apartments in Sector 10, Promila Malik from Jagran Apartments in Sector 22 and Jaya Lakshmi from Heritage Tower in Sector 3.
Speaking to City Spidey, secretary of Dwarka Kala Sargam and a resident of Mass Apartments in Sector 10, Shashi Jain, shared, “We felt happy that we were able to do something like this. It was a wonderful moment to see these kids perform along with the residents and other performers.” Jain also anchored the programme.
