The residents of Ahinsa Khand-II on Sunday celebrated their own version of Raahgiri Day which they have named as Bhagidaari Day. The event was hosted and organised between 6 am and 8 am by the Green Team.
A waste management awareness program was also held during the event. There was also a street drama on hazards of not having waste segregation properly.
The residents also took part in Zumba and Aerobics sessions led by Preeti and Neeti. There were exciting gifts and prizes for the most energetic participants. The children played scoop the pooh. They enjoyed skating as well as cycling. The senior citizens also participated with lot of enthusiasm.
Talking to City Spidey, Jayati Singh, one of the organisers said, “Last month, our agenda was voting awareness. This time our agenda was cleanliness and waste segregation.”
She further said, “Next month we will do yoga and skating as a fitness activity. Our talk of the day for the next month would be about water conservation.”
She added, “A young couple had also benefitted by using this platform to showcase their creativity through painting and plantation. There were 80-100 participants. We are hoping for more participation next time.”
She concluded by saying, “The Green Team always welcomes the residents of Ahnisa Khand-II to connect with each other. We give them the platform to share their talent with others”
