GB Nagar: Counting of votes to be done amid tight security arrangements

The district administration has completed the preparations for the counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections on Thursday at the flower market in Phase 2, Noida. Tight security arrangements have been done for peaceful counting of votes.

To keep a proper vigil of the area, two drone cameras will be used. All the concerned officials were asked to reach the venue latest by 6 am and they will be allowed entry at 7 am.



As per the directions of the election commission, the officials will start counting of votes at 8 am and it will continue till the results are declared.

There will be three layered security arrangements at the venue. Almost 2,000-2,500 security personnel will be deployed to facilitate the smooth and hassle free counting of votes.

SSP Vaibhav Krishna said, “At every table, a sub-inspector and three personnel will be deployed. There will be a layer of police personnel outside the tent. In the third layer, police personnel will be deployed outside the flower market.”

Mobile phones and electronic equipments will not be allowed inside the venue. The officials will have to enter the venue without mobile phones and electronic equipments.

Media will not be allowed to enter inside the venue. Moreover, there will be electronic surveillance of counting of votes.

Police personnel have been directed to stop the supporters of political parties a kilometer away from the venue. Barricading will be done to implement this.
