In a shocking incident, the Noida police on Wednesday found decomposed bodies of a couple in a flat situated on the ground floor of Supreme Enclave, a residential apartment in Sector 99 of the city.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Shashi Tyagi (55) and his wife Renu Tyagi (53). They hailed from Mansurpur area in Delhi and were residing alone here in this society. The couple was living in this flat since 2016 as the owner Ravi Tyagi was not charging any rent from the deceased.
“We received the information after a neighbour complained of foul smell. On reaching the spot, we found the flat was locked from inside. We broke open the door and saw that the body of the husband was hanging from the ceiling fan whereas the wife's body was lying in the bedroom,” police said.
Giving out more details about the deceased, police said that Shashi was a stockbroker and he was not looking at any profit in his business. Left with no other option, he borrowed huge loans but was not in a position to repay it.
To avoid lenders, the deceased couple used to keep the front door of their flat locked from inside and were using the other door to enter and exit, cops added.
“Looking at the decomposed state of the bodies, we presume the incident must have occurred four to five days ago. No poison or suicide note was found from the spot so we are not in a position to ascertain the reason behind couple's death. Further action will be taken once we receive the postmortem report,” Prashant Kapil, Station House Officer (SHO), Noida police concluded.
