Almost 7,50,000 saplings to be planted in GB Nagar

Under a large-scale plantation campaign, almost 7,50,000 plants will be planted until March 2020 in the Gautam Budh Nagar district. District Magistrate, BN Singh, has laid out targets for the plantations to all the concerned departments.

On the coming August 15, a record 3,73,650 plants will be planted. The DM will be holding a meeting in this regard with all the departments on Monday. The DM has given plantation targets to all the departments.



It is 1,95,955 for forest department, 1,80,000 for Noida Authority, 80,000 for Greater Noida Authority, 16,000 for Yamuna Authority, 28,000 for Public Works Department, 57,000 for Rural Development Department, 30,000 for Panchayati Raj Department, 17,000 for Revenue Department, 24,600 for Irrigation Department and 17,000 for Plantation Department.

As well, targets are also given to many departments such as Animal Husbandry, Electricity, Education, Labour, Health, Transport, Railway and Police.

A senior official associated with the department of Divisional Forest Officer said, “A large-scale plantation campaign will be done on the coming August 15. Preparations have already been started and plantations will start soon after the arrival of rains.”
