In view of vote counting in general elections, scheduled to take place at Phool Mandi, the city police have decided to divert the traffic on Wednesday.
In this regard, they have issued a traffic advisory according to which, the vehicular movement will be completely restricted on all roads beside the venue where the votes will be counted. These roads will remain closed from 4 am until the results are announced.
Movement of heavy vehicles entering Noida Phase-II from Surajpur to kuccha road leading to industrial areas of Noida has been diverted. Similarly, vehicles moving to Surajpur will be diverted towards Noida-Greater Noida Expressway at trijunction near Gejha village on DSC road.
The trijunction near Phool Mandi to Sector 88 will be completely closed for the passage of the heavy vehicles. The commuters will be allowed from the phase-II police station through the road passing by a private mobile company.
Apart from this, parking lots have been allotted for party supporters coming from Surajpur. They have to park their vehicles at the lots available at metro and bus station, located beside Hindon river bank.
Supporters travelling from Noida, Greater Noida Expressway will have to park their vehicles at the allotted lots via Eldeco Chowk.
Similarly, supporters and polling agents, people from press coming from Bhangel and moving towards Phool Mandi will have to stop their cars besides trijunction at Gejha Village. From there, they will have to walk to reach the vote counting venue.
The city traffic police have warned supporters they won't be allowed to park vehicles on the roadsides within a radius of 1 km from the vote counting venue.
“Flouting traffic advisory will compel us to take strict action against violators,” police concluded.
