The residents of Gulmohar Residency, a high rise in Indirapuram, were allegedly threatened, harassed and thrashed by the staff of builder of the society while they were holding a protest demanding completion of facilities on Saturday. One senior citizen was also allegedly harassed during the clash. The residents called police and filed a complaint against the staff.
Fed up with never-ending delay in getting even basic facilities running in their society, the residents were protesting against the builder and the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).
Scores of angry residents held a march inside the society shouting slogans against the builder and GDA. The residents were holding placards with their various demands written over it.
SK Panda, a resident told City Spidey, “We had called the builder to come and meet us, instead, he sent his bouncers to threaten us. These goons mocked and verbally abused us and provoked us to react. When we asked them to stop, they physically attacked us. A senior resident was injured in the scuffle.” Ghaziabad News
He further that the residents have been facing a range of issues as the builder has not even completed basic facilities like developing a children’s play area, intercom facility, installation of water softener or sewage treatment plant (STP), and issuance of completion certificate (CC) and registry.
The residents are also demanding reduction of fixed charges and variable charges in electricity bill, development of a badminton court, adequate CCTV coverage and cleaning of shafts.
