Gurgaon: High tension power line angers Patel Nagar residents; demand action

Despite CM's order to the officials of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) several months ago, the high tension power line, which runs through above the flats located in Patel Nagar area, is yet to be shifted.
According to the report published on Jagran website, the amount which will be required for the shifting work has been paid by the municipal body to the power corporation but the work is still pending. This has drawn the ire of the residents towards the administration. People call it as sheer negligence on the part of the power corporation, which is yet to begin the shifting work.

Chief of Patel Nagar Sudhaar Mandal, Deepchand and convenor of social organisation, Manav Awaaz, Abhay Jain too blamed the power corporation for its shilly-shally attitude being the reason for the delay in the work.

It is important to note that the Patel Nagar colony was authorised 25 years ago. Residents of this colony have been paying municipal taxes including house tax, water and sewerage tax, street light tax etc. The Haryana govt has provided registry and charged stamp duty for all the flats and plots that come under this colony. In this regard, it is the state govt's responsibility to remove and shift such lines.
