Dwarka Forum meets newly appointed traffic inspector

The members of Dwarka Forum (a resident body comprising RWAs and managements from various societies) discussed traffic-related issues with the newly-appointed traffic inspector of the area, Archana Andley. In the meeting held at Sector 23 police station, the forum members handed over a letter enlisting key traffic issues to Andley. Dwarka News

The discussion touched upon deployment of cops at all intersections, regular checking of Gramin Sewa vans, private buses, school vans and buses, illegal parking of vehicles on main roads/service lanes and rash driving.

Speaking to City Spidey, vice president of Dwarka Forum, Sunil Sateen, said, “We also expressed our concerns about unauthorised heavy vehicle movement through narrow lanes and dumping of malba on empty plots, particularly near metro line opposite SPG complex in Sector 8 and behind CNG station in Sector 9. We have asked them to take action on these immediately.”

The sub city has also become prone to accidents because of unauthorised speed breakers and traffic mess because of encroachments, particularly at Ramphal Chowk, Raja Puri, Dada Dev Road near Sector 8, said one of the members.

P Menon, treasurer of forum and a resident of Ashirwad Apartments, Sector 12, said, “It has been decided that the forum in association with traffic police, BSES  and horticulture department of DDA will conduct a survey in Dwarka to find out traffic signals that are not visible because of advertising boards and trees.  We will also be organising awareness sessions in schools and housing societies on road safety with the support of traffic police.”
