District administration and SSP of GB Nagar have begun preparations for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections to be held in the coming months.
The voters’ list compiled till January 31 includes 14.88 lakh voters compared to 12.14 lakh voters of 2014 Lok Sabha elections, registering an increase of 2.10 lakh voters. Noida News
In this count, 1.34 lakh voters are first-timers, who attained the legal age of voting on January 1. Apart from this, 4,433 voters have been registered as persons with disability (PWD).
A total of 1,417 polling booths with 119 auxiliary booths have been identified across 492 centres — 22 nodal officers, 112 sector magistrates, 20 zonal magistrates, three new SDMs, BDOs and new police personnel have also been appointed.
Apart from this, different teams have been set up to take off posters, banners and hoardings from government buildings and institutions to ensure compliance with the model code of conduct (MCC), which is expected to come into force from this Sunday (March 10).
SSP GB Nagar also said that stringent action will be taken against unauthorised supply of liquor.
The C-Vigil app and helpline number 1950 will be in place to address all complaints related to violation of MCC and other election-related matters.
