Dwarka celebrates Saraswati Puja with great zeal and fervour

People across Dwarka on Sunday celebrated Saraswati Puja with enthusiasm and gaiety to mark the advent of spring season. The puja, at many places, was organised by the Durga Puja Committee, comprising Bengalis.

It was organised in a traditional Bengali culture at Sectors 4, 6 and 22. Besides, an NGO named Nai Soch Nai Pahal celebrated the occasion at Sector 6 in the park beside Diamond Apartments.

The puja was followed by cultural programmes, organised at various places by social organisations, RWAs and institutions. People from the Hindu community, RWAs of Sector 13 and 14, social groups and other community groups participated on this occasion.

Sambhav Puja Samiti celebrated the puja by making grand arrangements at Sector 14, Sambhav Chowk.

“Apart from religious activities, we had organised different types of events during the celebration, dedicated to the community people. Painting, musical chair, tambola, dance drama competitions, orchestra, bhajans and gazal programmes were the main attractions on this occasion. Besides, gifts and prizes were given to the children for their participation and performance in several games, activities and competitions. The most encouraging thing this year was the participation of women and children in huge numbers from Sector 13 and 14,” SS Jha of Sambhav Puja Samiti said.
