The incessant rain continued right throughout the night has made the weather pleasant but it has also increased the woes of the residents of Ahinsa Khand II in Indirapuram. The residents are afraid to step on the Mall Road as the whole area has turned into a swamp.
The temporary leveling of the road has turned into a trap for many vehicles including a school bus and a truck. Their tyres almost trapped in the road. “My kid missed school because of the chaos created by the heavy rain," a resident complained. Indirapuram News
Apart from this, the whole area faced long power cut in the morning.
Alok Kumar, President of Federation of Apartments Owners Association (FedAOA) said, “I don't know why authorities wake up only after some incident.”
Recently, after repeated meetings and persuasion by the residents and FedAOA, GDA had initiated fillings of the road where sewer and water pipelines were laid.
“However, they did it haphazardly. Residents told GDA to mix grit with mud for stability, but GDA, only levelled up with mud,” he added.
Since August, GDA is laying down the sewer and Ganga Jal pipeline. When the work gets complete, the roads will be reconstructed. For now, a temporary filling has been done.
The latest situation has added up to a frustration of the residents who are already annoyed with the daily ruckus they had to face due to bad condition of the road. Many residents have also planned a protest on coming Sundays. However, the date is tentative.
