Mohit Kumar, who works in an IT firm and is a resident of Sector 121, was recently transferred to Pune from Noida. He contacted a packers and movers company — called Rose Movers and Packers — from Just Dial to have his goods shifted. They arrived on October 24; packed all the goods; loaded everything onto the truck and made off.
The delivery was to be made within four days by October 28. But the goods worth more than Rs 10 lakh, including his car, never arrived in Pune.
Speaking to City Spidey, the victim said, “The company initially took Rs 61,000 for the service, but later, demanded more money. So, I transferred Rs 30,000 more, as they demanded. But they did not deliver the items.”
The last time Kumar spoke to the company officials was at the time of Diwali, after that, the phones were switched off.
Sudha Singh, SP (City), said, “A case has been registered with Phase 3 police station. We have a few leads. If police finds any involvement of Just Dial in the case, action will be initiated against them as well.”
