NEFOWA extracts promise of a weekly hearing from GreNo Authority

Following requests from the residents of high-rises in Greater Noida, Greater Noida Authority has fixed every Wednesday for hearing out complaints related to violations of UP Apartments Act of 2010.

The development comes after a group of residents, under the banner of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA), approached the senior officials of Greater Noida Authority and asked whether the authority had a specific department where residents could file their grievances related to the UP Apartments Act.

Residents complained that violations of the UP Apartments Act have been reported from almost every housing society, but there’s no specific department to handle with these cases. “For instance, forming an AOA is a major problem here. We usually approach the registrar’s office on these issues, but it take a lot of time to come to a resolution,” said a resident associated with NEFOWA.

Another resident, also a member of NEFOWA, spoke to City Spidey on the development. “When we met the CEO, he said these issues could be handled by an official working under the UP Apartments Act, even if there was no specific department. Later, we were told that ACEO Krishna Kumar Gupta has been appointed to look into these issues.”
