Four unidentified men robbed a third-year BBA student of Amity University of his valuables worth nearly Rs 4 lakh on Thursday night near the Mahamaya College while he was on his way home in Sector 76. A case has been registered.
The victim, Harshit Soni, has filed a complaint with the Sector 39 police station alleging that the incident occurred at around 10 pm.
“I was on my way home with a friend on his scooter. When we reached near the Mahamaya Intercollege, our scooter was intercepted by four unidentified men on two motorcycles. I was robbed of my valuables on gun-point,” said Soni in his complaint.
He further alleged that the accused took seven of his gold rings, one gold chain, three mobile phones (Apple 7+, Nokia and Samsung) and one of his ATM cards.
Meanwhile, the police suspect that Soni’s friend with whom he was travelling may have had a hand in the robbery. “Only Soni was targeted by the accused. They didn’t take any valuables from the other guy. However, with the way it has been carried out is seems the accused had some inside information,” said Amit Kumar Singh, station house officer, sector 39 police station.
