The Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) has planned a protest march on September 16 against the builder’s delay in giving possession of flats. The protest march will start from Mandi House Metro Station and will end at Parliament Street in New Delhi. Noida News
According to the members of NEFOWA, the flat buyers are suffering due to the nexus of the authorities, banks, builders and politicians. There are many projects which are delayed by 6-7 years.
NEFOWA members said that they want that the central and state government to come forward and resolve the issues of builders such as Amrapali, Jaypee, Unitech, Supertech, Rudra and many others.
The president of NEFOWA, Abhishek Kumar, told City Spidey that they are expecting over thousands of buyers to participate in the protest march. “We are planning a peaceful protest and will not disturb the traffic movement on the roads during the protest,” Kumar said.
Here are the three major demands from the homebuyers:
1. Stop home loan EMI immediately and adjust the EMI amount in the principal amount for the last 5 years. Interest paid till date should get income tax relief.
2. Refund of all the taxes paid by buyers in the form of service tax relief.
3. The government should infuse funds and complete all the pending projects of Noida and Greater Noida.
“There are buyers who booked flats before marriage. Now, they have school going kids and yet they are waiting for the possession of flats. Some of the buyers purchased flat from the retirement funds and now are forced to live in a rented house,” Kumar said.
“Now, the flat buyers are fed up with the elected government and authorities because of their pro builder approach. We are honest tax-paying middle class. We have already had enough of being ignored by our own elected government,” NEFOWA members said.
