People in Dwarka are enthusiastically preparing for upcoming “International Yoga Day” which will be celebrated on June 21. People attending yoga sessions in parks and societies have become a common sight these days.
Yoga learning camps are being frequently organised in neighbourhood parks as a precursor to the big event.
Different organisations, such as Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, Shivananda Yoga and Patanjali Yoga, are busy conducting camps at sectors 17, 23, 6, 10, 11, 12 etc. Experts are also voluntarily promoting Yoga to the community.
Manmohan Gupta, an expert who is voluntarily giving yoga sessions in Dwarka, said, “My objective is to make the community aware about the importance of yoga. The yoga sessions will improve the lives of people. An event, such as “International Yoga Day,” motivates people to perform it regularly.”
Recently, a 3-day yoga camp was organised at Sector-9 Park by “Bhartiya Yog Sansthan” to make people aware about health and the importance of yoga.
MK Singh, a yoga instructor at Sector-9, said, "People are learning yoga to participate in the “International Yoga Day” show at various places in Dwarka. Children, youths and women are taking more interest. It is a good sign that people are showing interest to learn yoga despite living a busy metro life.”
Dr Ramesh Yadav, a yoga expert, has given training to the residents of Seema Apartments in Sector-11. He shared, “We are trying to take yoga at the doorstep of the people. At Seema Apartments, about 70 people got trained. The community is preparing for “Yoga Day” in this manner.”
