Dwarka: NEET aspirant commits suicide after failing to qualify in exam


A boy named Pranav Mehandirata on Monday committed suicide by jumping from his eighth-floor apartment in Sunny Valley CGHS in Sector-12 of Dwarka. He was a National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) aspirant.

As per police sources, Mehandirata was very disappointed after not qualifying in NEET exam whose result was declared on Monday.

According to police, they received a PCR call regarding fall of a boy from the eighth floor of Sunny Valley at around 5.15 pm.

When police arrived at the spot, they saw blood stains at the place where the boy fell. They came to know that the boy suffered severe head injuries after the fall which led to his death on the spot.

 Pranav Mehandirata was a son of Mohan Mehandirata. They lived in B-1/804, Sunny Valley CGHS. The boy was preparing for NEET exam in the last two years. He passed class 12 in 2016.

“Today, the NEET result was declared in the afternoon where Pranav did not qualify. A suicide note with mention of NEET result was also found in his room. Proceedings under section 174 CRPC is being carried out,” said a police official on the condition of anonymity.
