Two students commit suicide after securing low grades in CBSE Class X exams


Two students committed suicide in Dwarka on Tuesday after the announcement of the CBSE Class X results.

The police said that a boy named Rohit, resident of Sector 15B, Bharat Vihar committed suicide by hanging himself after securing low marks in his X board exams.

His family members claimed that he was highly tensed since receiving his result.

According to police, no suicide note was found on the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is ongoing in the case.

The police said that they had received information of the suicide at around 3.45 pm in the evening.

The boy’s father is an employee at the South Delhi Municipal Corporation. His family members informed the police that the boy received 59% percent marks which were far lesser than he had desired.

They claimed that soon after, he went to his room and locked it from inside. When he didn’t open the room, they broke the door and saw him hanging from the ceiling fan.

In another incident, a girl committed suicide in Dabri of Dwarka district after the results of CBSE Class X were announced. The police claimed that they had received information regarding the suicide at around 8.30 pm.

According to DCP of Dwarka, Shibesh Singh the girl appeared in the examination through correspondence and had secured low marks in Mathematics and Science. As per the police, she had cut her veins and then hanged herself.

The police didn’t recover any suicide note from the spot and is presently investigating the matter.
