CBSE announces Class X results; gets list of students who received leaked papers

As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class X results on Tuesday, the Delhi Police handed the board a list comprising the names of students who had allegedly received the leaked Class 10 Mathematics and class 12 Economics question papers.

A senior police official said, “CBSE had requested us to provide details of students who had received the leaked question papers. We have provided them adequate information and the matter is still under investigation.”

As per reports, the crime branch of Delhi police has mentioned the names of nearly sixty students to the board, who were quizzed during the probe.

The police said that two modules were allegedly involved in leaking the CBSE question papers.

One of the modules was busted in Himachal Pradesh’s Una last month and six people, including a woman, were arrested regarding the matter.

The second module was cracked in Bawana in March and three people, including two teachers of a private school were arrested. The police have however said that the principal of the Bawana school was not co-operating with the investigation.

Police said that the teachers had taken photographs of the economics paper and sent it through WhatsApp to a private tutor named Tauqeer. Tauqeer, in turn, circulated the paper among his students about an hour before the examination started.

The Delhi police had then registered two separate cases in connection with the paper leaks.

The first case related to the leak of the economics paper was registered on March 27, while the other pertaining to the leak of the mathematics paper was registered on March 28.

CBSE had declared the Class 12 results on May 26 while the Class 10 results were announced on Teusday.
