Nitish lays foundation stone of expansive ‘Bihar Sadan’ in Dwarka


Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, laid the foundation stone of “Bihar Sadan” in Sector-19 of Dwarka on Wednesday. This will be third such kind of premises which are dedicated to people of Bihar in the national capital. There are already two places with names of Bihar Bhavan and Bihar Niwas in Delhi.
The construction started right after the laying of foundation stone. The new building will be used by visitors from Bihar including the governor, chief minister, legislators, judges, officials and common people.

“Bihar government had demanded land for construction of building from DDA. DDA had earlier agreed to provide one acre of land for this purpose. But, Bihar government requested for two acres of land. DDA agreed to it and provided two acres for building in Dwarka. The deadline to complete the construction is October 2, 2019,” said Nitish while addressing people.

According to sources, the building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 79 crore and it will provide stay to visitors from Bihar. According to one of the officials, it will be a G+10 (ground floor plus 10 floors) building.

The building will be constructed only on one-third of two acres of land. The remaining space will be converted into a garden. The “Bihar Sadan” will have 118 rooms and space for parking of 225 vehicles.

Addressing the gathering, Nitish also shared details about development works in Bihar and especially in the capital Patna. He said that construction of buildings is on the rise in Patna.

Nitish said that a “Science City” would be constructed in Patna. He informed about the construction of Bihar Museum and Bapu Conference Hall at Patna. He also talked about the environment protection and water conservation.
