The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 12 results on Saturday afternoon on the official website of the board - cbse.nic.in.
Tanya Pant, a student of Bharti Public School in Shreshtha Vihar, secured the first rank (96 percent from commerce stream) in East Delhi. She scored 90 marks in Economics, 97 in Accounts, 95 in English, 95 and 92 in Business Studies and Mathematics respectively.
Tanya resides with her mother in the United India Apartments of Mayur Vihar Phase 1 Extension.
During a short interview with City Spidey, she said that the credit for her success goes to her mother Minakshi Pant. Tanya’s father Harsh Pant had separated from her mother long ago.
“I was quite confident about my result but when I went to sleep on Friday night, I was thinking about my marks. I had gone outside to give an exam on Saturday morning. However, when I reached home my mother told me about my result.”
She further added, “I was very upset when the Economics paper was leaked and its exam was canceled. It is my favourite subject.”
Tanya’s mother Minakshi Pant said that she had always believed that her daughter will pass the exam with good numbers.
