Homebuyers in Gurgaon have finally found a voice in Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Gurgaon. Since the regulatory authority’s Gurgaon office started functioning in January this year, it has received over 200 complaints from the buyers of residential and commercial projects.
Till March 24, it received nearly 100 complaints, and in the last one month, another 100 complaints.
Most of the complaints are related to delay in constructions of projects, inadequate infrastructure, occupation certificate (OCs), etc.
Nearly 120 complaints have been heard, and 80 cases will be heard in the next two weeks, claim RERA officials.
In the past three months, RERA has slapped a fine of Rs 3 lakh on a residential project at Sector 36, Krisum City Private Limited.
KK Kandelwal, chairman RERA (Gurgaon), said, “Another big-ticket commercial project has come under RERA fire and we will impose a heavy penalty in a day or two. The project obtained licence for commercial project at Sector 63, but failed to get its project registered with RERA before July 31, 2017. We have heard over 100 cases and disposed many with directions and, in many other cases, second hearings have been fixed.”
Sudhir Garg, a buyer, said, “My project is incomplete, but the developer obtained RERA registration. So we have filed complaints with the authority to conduct site inspection.”
Most of the buyers have complained that many projects are incomplete, but they somehow managed RERA registration.
