Parents oppose DPS Indirapuram's recent hike, will stick to old fees

Members of DPS Indirapuram Parents Welfare Association,  have decided to pay DPS Indirapuram's fees sans the hike and the annual charges. The decision of parents comes following an overall hike in school fees which was applied on all the various heads of the fee constituents.

Members of the association said that they would only pay the fees as listed during the previous academic year and would also refrain from paying annual charges which they considered an unexplained charge.

The decision came after a joint meeting of parents which took place at Swarn Jayanti Park in Indirapuram. Parents had earlier decided to hold back all fees until the school made changes in the currently hiked fees and had also carried out a signature campaign in this regard.

“We have decided to pay fees but without the increased component. We will pay the old tuition fees and transportation charges and the other fee heads. We are not going to pay the annual charge as it is illegal and unexplained. We also have a copy of the notice issued by the Joint Director of Education which says that these charges are illegal,” said Priyanka Rana, president of DPS Indirapuram Parents Welfare Association.

Meanwhile, parents said that they have been waiting for the school’s response and were also planning a protest against the school which might take place in the coming week.

In a previous statement to City Spidey, the school management said that the fee had been hiked due to cost incurred by recent infrastructural development and there was little chance of rolling back the hike.
