The Ekisha Shah case took a new twist with the Supreme Court deciding to hear it on an urgent basis.
The family members of the 16-year-old girl, who had committed suicide at her home owing to alleged sexual harassment and criticism, had moved the apex court and filed a writ petition seeking CBI Investigation in this case on Tuesday.
The petition has been filed through advocate Sushil Thekriwal. The victim’s father, Raghav Shah has alleged that Ahlcon Public School’s principal has bribed the police and they are trying to close the case.
Sushil Tekriwal, the counsel representing Ekisha’s family told City Spidey that, “We requested the SC to listen to Ekisha’s family's petition at the earliest and the apex court agreed to hear it next week”.
Moreover, the advocate has asked that the girl’s family members should be provided adequate security.
Ekisha, a 16-year-old student of Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase-1, was found hanging in her Noida Sector 52 residence last Wednesday.
Her parents alleged that school teachers had sexually harassed her and deliberately failed her in her annual exams. Further, they had also blocked the Noida-Delhi link road from both sides for about five hours in order to demand justice for their daughter.
