The Noida Police registered a second FIR including IPC Section 354 (sexual harassment) and POCSO in Ahlcon Public School's Class 9 student Ekisha Raghav Shah’s suicide case on Wednesday morning.
However, it is yet to find any incriminating evidence against the teachers of the school.
After a three hour long investigation at the school, Noida City Superintendent of Police, Arun Kumar Singh, said, “We investigated the case and interrogated the school teachers and principal. We have also examined the school’s internal committee’s report. However, there is no complaint on sexual harassment. Allegations have been made against two teachers, Neeraj Anand and Rajesh Sehgal by the deceased’s family. Neeraj is a female teacher while Rajesh who has been teaching in this school for the last 24 years has a clean track record. In other words, we have found nothing against these teachers that can justify the allegations.”
Replying to City Spidey’s question regarding registering an FIR with POCSO, Singh said, “Complaints can be registered. However, the police can take action only according to its own investigation and findings.”
During the investigation, police found that Ekisha had been studying in this school (Ahlcon Public School) from the beginning of her academic life.
They have also discovered that she had been absent during the half yearly examinations. “She could not attend the half yearly examinations as she had gone somewhere to participate in a dance competition. In the annual exams, she had failed in two subjects,” Singh said.
He further added, "Its a very serious issue and we are investigating it accordingly. However, its too early to reach any conclusion. Action will be taken on the basis of the findings."
