Gurgaon: Sex racket busted in Palam Vihar mall, ten arrested

Continuing its drive against sex rackets operating in the guise of health spas in various malls of the city, the Gurgaon police arrested 10 people including five women for soliciting sex in Ansal Plaza mall at Palam Vihar.

A raid was conducted on Sunday evening at Avalaon Spa and Massage center located on the first floor of the mall and the accused were arrested after a decoy customer struck a deal with the spa manager, said police.
They were then produced in court on Monday, which sent them to judicial custody. A case was registered against them under different sections of the Immoral Trafficking Act at Palam Vihar police station.

The police said that they had conducted the raid after receiving several complaints that illegal activities were going on in the spa from different quarters.

On Sunday evening, a raiding team was constituted and a decoy customer was sent to the Avalaon Spa, who struck a deal with the spa managers and sent a message to the raiding team waiting outside, said police.

The raid was conducted by a team led by inspector Vikram Nehra, SHO, Palam Vihar police station, who claimed that some of the accused were caught in objectionable positions.

“Further investigation in the case is going on and it is being probed whether some other people were also involved in running this racket. Two managers of the spa have also been arrested”, said Nehra.

Since the last six months, Gurgaon police has raided more than 10 spas located at different malls across the city including Sohna road, MG road and other places where sex rackets were being operated. Some of the busted spas, were being operated from houses located in posh localities and markets.
