Action against schools who default on notice for winter break

In view of the recent cold wave, the state education department has directed all private and government schools of the city to extend winter vacations till January 14. The state education department will also ensure that all schools adhere to the order.
Speaking to City Spidey, Ram Kumar Phalaswal from the state education department said, “Schools violating the order will face action. Our superintendent and deputy superintendent will take appropriate action against the defaulting private schools that have already reopened.” Gurgaon News
Incidentally, the decision of extending the winter break was communicated to the district administration in the late evening hours of Sunday. While most government schools and private schools remain closed till January 14, some private schools have already reopened. However, the junior sections (from kindergarten to Class 3) of these private schools too remain shut till January 15.
The temperature had plummeted to  6 degree Celsius on Sunday. Consequently, the order was issued on Sunday evening by the state education minister, Ram Bilas Sharma.
A section of guardians (of school children) feel that the order should have been conveyed a little earlier. “On Sunday evening we hurried to the shoe store to purchase new school shoes for my daughter. Had the order been issued a little earlier, we could have gone later as per our convenience,” said Harish Ahuja, a resident of Sushant Lok 1.
Adding to this, another parent and a resident of Nirvana Country, said, “My son’s school is open today. Orders on such matters need to be communicated well in advance to avoid ambiguity.”
