Sec 17B, Gurgaon, will finally get the smooth roads it was waiting for

In a bid to provide better and safer roads to residents, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) started road carpeting in Sector 17B yesterday.

This will not only repair potholes but will also level out the low-lying lanes inside the sector.
According to residents, this was a much-needed move, as the internal roads of the colony were damaged and urgently needed repairs.
Every monsoon, residents say, the low-lying colony gets flooded and the potholes are no longer visible, making it especially dangerous for commuters. There were also incidents in which senior citizens lost their footing and fell due to the bad roads.
The RWA, along with the senior citizens of the colony, then approached MCG to request them to carpet the road. And finally they have taken action.
Speaking to City Spidey, RWA president, DS Yadav, said, "The roads have been due for carpeting and we are happy to see that MCG’s words were not just empty promises."
After the carpeting is done, residents hope accidents and incidents of tripping will reduce.
"In some places the roads were so bad that even vehicles were damaged. Thankfully, that will now stop," said Angad Singh, a resident.
